Articulated Thoughts General Movie News & Discussion

Anyone see Roofman this weekend? It's a true story of a guy who hid from the police by living in a Toys R Us. Channing Tatum is great and the movie is entertaining.

The best part - being back inside a TRU! They did a great job recreating it and of course I was paying close attention to what toys they put on display. They had ToyBiz Fantastic Four, the white carded classics, I saw Gen X at one point, then Star Wars orange and green POTF cards, Tickle Me Elmo, a Spice Girls poster - all of which points to an around 1997 timeframe.

But - the movie is set in 2004.

REALLY weird incongruity there.

Never got around to seeing Longlegs after the hype died down, but Osgood Perkins is a name I keep hearing. May have to check it out. Nice that it got Del Toro's approval, though. Love me some GDT.

Speaking of, I'm stoked to be seeing Del Toro's Frankenstein this weekend. It's got a short run in the Netflix-owned Paris theater, so I got tickets for Sunday. Didn't find out about the Q&A with GDT until after it was sold out, of course, but still- it'll be great to see on a big screen. Been getting some great reviews.
