And thanks for the tip. I might consider trying that. But then again I only have one of those specific optic blast effects and id rather use it for cyclops. Than again I'm considering a second ROM so who knows .



Side note: While I think ROM is probably a one off id love to get at least starshine. And maybe a "true form" dire wraith of some kind. There was one that toybiz almost did in the 90s. I wish it had come out because it would probably be fudge-able with legends looking at the prototype. If nothing else we could get more of the spaceknights marvel still owns like Ikon (come to think of it they own starshine too, it's just the dire wraith's that they would need to get permission for as while marvel continued to use them they were mentioned in one of the commercials for the original ROM toy so they apparently shouldn't have been. Though marvel still owns their version of the design for the dire wraith's) I get that there are other hasbro owned licensed marvel characters that people probably want more like micronauts but then again I thought crystar was a one off (albeit one fully owned by marvel) and we got warbow so who knows?

You can see how ROM’s poetic paeans of peace influenced me as a lad on the verge of adolescence. Otherwise, how else could I wax so eloquently?

If you have but the one optic blast, in some ways it depends on which character you love more: ROM or Cyclops. If it’s a toss up, I’d go with Cyclops, just ‘cuz it’s meant for him, and the energy burst accessory that comes with ROM isn’t bad. And, ROM is quite cool just standing there with his Neutralizer sans energy effect. But if ROM is more your guy, give it to him!

Side note reply: Believe you me, I’m trying to get more ROM related characters made. Every chance I get, I make suggestions to my cousin (in-law) at Hasbro. Just like I’ve been doing for someone here (Lucid Silverback, maybe?) for a long time regarding M’Baku.

Starshine I, Starshine II, Firefall, Terminator, the Spaceknight Squadron, Serpentyne, Dire Wraiths, Hybrid… That’s the top of the list. There is so much potential. But we’ll never see most of it, I fear.

I think I'll keep the optic blast on cyclops for the reasons you stated . Besides while not as comic accurate I don't mind the effect ROM came with. As far as your list goes while not a character exclusive to ROM , The Torpedo was a Big part of the first half of the book and is like some of the other spaceknight related things is owned by marvel completely. I would love to see more spaceknight stuff even just regarding the parts of it marvel completely owns. I was recently playing the marvel future fight Mobile game and was pleased to see Ikon is a playable character with multiple moves and her in game bio mentioning spaceknights and galador. And given that marvel has some sort of publishing deal with hasbro to use ROM for reprints and variant covers and the like I would think that now would be the time to make more spaceknight stuff while hasbro is being extra cooperative. My attitude with the ROM stuff Is the same attitude I have towards the recent return of dc/ marvel comic crossovers: keep making as much as you reasonably can while the lawyers have this worked out.

How could I have forgotten Torpedo? His storyline in ROM was fantastic, and then… ROM took such a dark, dark turn.

Good decision regarding the optic blast. And, it’s something you can change up at some point.

That’s interesting about Ikon in the game. ROM did extremely well for Hasbro; he was the best seller in that wave by far. So, maybe we will get lucky and see another Spaceknight or ancillary character from the ROM comic. That would be great.

That’s neat, seeing those photos of all those Marvel/Hasbro “caught in copyright chaos” characters!

It was honestly a pretty sleepy year in terms of my tastes, but Deathbird was a major, major want crossed off my list, and turned out beautifully, so she's probably the pick. MvC Psylocke, Fabian Cortez, Rachel Summers, and Daken were all honourable mentions.
