Age of Primes

Other than my boy Skywarp, and the skeletal figures of the recent combiners (MM and Silverbolt) my focus was just completing the Dinos and Constructicons over the last couple years. Other than getting complete combiners that I never owned in any form before, I'm more of less finished with TF.

I'd kill for an Insecticon Combiner. A Junkion one could be cool, too.
There's a guy on IG that goes by botbender_orinj that does a lot of fan builds to make existing figures like the Insecticons and the Junkions combine. He made a big ass Junkion dinosaur with like five of them. Sometimes he uses one of the modular figures that came out a few years ago to be the base, and they're all mostly connected by the 5mm pegs and ports. It's rather spectacular.

Quintus Prime arrived from Pulse, and found Combaticon Blast Off and Junkion Jalopy at Target this morning. Haven't opened any Combaticons yet, but probably won't wait once I have Onslaught.

Combaticon Brawl and Amalgamous Prime arrived on Christmas Eve. Got around to messing with AP, Brawl will wait for Onslaught along with Vortex and Blast Off.

So this guy is similar to parts-formers, like the weaponizers from a few years back. He does have at least one or two alt modes that don’t require pulling him apart, which is what I prefer. None seem to be a distinct vehicle though. There’s instructions for 4-5 modes. I kinda just like him as a hunchback, four-armed trollish looking thing.

The one flaw I’m finding is that the more I mess with him, some of the limbs are becoming loose at the 5mm ports. Makes me not want to mess.

He’s fun to pose. And just a totally left field design for a Transformer. I lean way more G1 in my tastes, but this guy feels full of surprises and that makes him refreshing.

I hope they revisit Headmasters, and I don't mean repaints in overpriced two-packs but actual new sculpts. Titans Return Returns. In the meantime I'll be buying like two TFs a year. I do think Hasbro is insanely cheap with this line but they still have some great figures now and then (my eyes are on Brawl right now). The designers are passionate but like...come on....how is Windcharger a $28 toy with those open panel boots and lower arms that are just unpainted red plastic chunks? At least he has pinned wheels.

I got Quickstrike a while ago, but I waited to open him until Christmas break. Quickstrike came out great! I’ve always loved this character and his design. He does not have the translucent plastic of the original, but the gold and teal colors are vibrant and really pop. One of the nicest Beast Wars figures.

Hope we get Rampage someday.

E*V*E*R*Y Transformer should be a HeadMaster. And the li'l headbot should have *F*U*L*L* articulation. If them teeny-ass Diaclone pilots can get it, HeadBots can too.

I love that dumb-ass play feature so much I've given serious brainpower trying to figure out how to make a *human* HeadMaster, like all flesh and hair and brain textures for the 'robot' face and shit.
