Age of Primes

How's yours holding together? Do the wings peg to the hull in plane mode well? Mine don't feel secure.

I've seen a lot of concern and complaints about the wings, but mine do seem to snap in pretty well.

They have yet to pop loose.

Opened my Powerglide today.

I like him! My wings peg in pretty well. The only thing that bothers me is the looseness of the nose cannon - if someone makes a third-party upgrade fix for that, I'd be tempted.

Otherwise though, I'm happy with him - more than Seaspray.

I'm hoping to find a new copy of Powerglide that has better friction/grips. I really didn't want to be disappointed in him. He definitely has potential. How are your engines at his legs staying together? I always pull them off before the hinges can move.

That happened to me once on one side, but only because I didn't understand how they worked (I always try to transform without reading the instructions). Otherwise the engines seem OK.

Liege Maximo is a thicc boi. He essentially transforms into a coconut or some other tropical fruit. Is he supposed to be the Prime Quintesson? Or is that the other Prime? I like him enough but he’s not the stand out for the Thirteen.

Quintus Prime is the Quintesson forebearer (in some continuities and if you squint in others). Liege Maximo's alt mode, I believe comes from his G2 Comic ship?

Liege Maximo is a thicc boi...
I was in Walmart Sunday morning holding Powerglide and Swerve trying not to spend too much money, but I was also looking at the two AoP Leaders I don't have (Maximo and Convoy) and thinking they look so much more substantial than the two Deluxe minibots. The Leaders are the exact price of two Deluxes in Walmart. I suppose the ratio was always about the same, but I'm usually doing a preorder or online buy. This time, I'm trying to make a decision in the toy aisle and possibly overthinking. I usually don't have this many choices in a store at one time. I ended up only buying Swerve 😀. Maybe the others at another time.

I'd say Liege is only essential if you're collecting all Thirteen Primes. I went with all of them because they're new molds and I enjoy that kind of novelty, which is so rare in TF collecting. Most figures are very familiar to me. These are all brand new. Few of them really reinvent the wheel. Amalgamous is probably the most fun, but the rest are fairly standard Transformers toys, with a bit of added lore as being the firsts.

Going back to Liege Maximo's size, he definitely feels substantial. I don't know about $60 substantial, but that's just where we're at now. Plenty of moving parts that fit together well. Only issue I really noticed is his shoulder pads pop off too easily, which may be a feature for some reason I haven't found yet. I kind of like rotating the "horns" so the vehicle resembles a goat's head more.
