Action Force and Valaverse

I don't know if he's a Valaverse employee or not, but I think we'd all be mistaken to forget about Bobby's little camera buddy, too.
I actually have no idea who that is and I don't recall noticing them in anything. But I also don't actually watch Vala content as a general rule.

Cameraman groupie guy, is that you?
Nah, let's not do that. Bat's cool.

Makes me wonder if Bobby will ever see this. He'd get banned so fast if he joined... Not because hes Bobby, but because he'll probably act like Bobby lol. And, I'm not one to try and talk shit on people while they're not here. Just seems like he wouldn't be able to resist. People like that usually can't.
Everyone is welcome. But like.. I'm not gonna stop so I don't know how much he'd enjoy it here.

I'd love it if Bobby joined up and had real discussions. I think someone in his position could actually learn a lot from talking to people who don't like him because of how prickly he comes off in interviews and on his channel, but unfortunately I think you're right. He'd just fight and whine and pee a little and that would be the end of Bobby lol
I would argue the issue is that a LOT of people, not just Bobby, that get into certain professional positions tend not to take advice outside their community, even if it's good advice. The brain just tends to go to 'I know more, I'm just gonna do my thing.' There's an almost immediate, sometimes even unintentional dismissiveness. I leveled basically the same accusation at Zach from DST because he was basically impervious to any criticism of DST's products or practices. There was always a shitty excuse or deflection or just ignoring issues. Always. And I'm not convinced even half of it was intentional.

Believe it or not, I love the idea of Bobby using all of this (not specifically my commentary, I'm not quite that egotistical -- just the reaction to him in general and all the behind-the-back stuff he's been reading other people saying about him) to grow as a person, do better, and BE better. Genuinely. I just don't see it happening, because I think Bobby views it as a weakness to change 'for other people.'

No idea what this means. I am not related to Valaverse. I do buy too many of their figures but then I buy too many of everybody's figures. Vala's are generic but I like 'em for that reason. They finally provided me a GCPD SWAT division because I mostly buy them as generic world builders.

If you think their toys suck, fine, say it. If you think Vala's a goofball based on public online behavior, ok. But you don't know how he'd be in a scary situation (no one really knows this about oneself even) and it is some weird, non self aware machismo to speculate on it.

I enjoy most of your posts but there is some excessive bile aimed at Vala around here (as there was at Shartimus) and I don't get it. Vitriol is taxing to spend. I save mine for people doing real harm - guys like Alex Karp - not for guys with a bit of a chip on their shoulder making fairly well-designed toys in a scale I prefer.

Anyway, peace man. I'll pass by further discussion of this.

I haven't seen that movie in ages, but I remember liking it and wishing they had done the sequel. Where's the reference, I think I missed it?

Its just that hes number 4 on the search results. And the movie and book is literally "I am number 4." And I think they say it all cheesy like at the end of the film but it's been a while since I've seen it.

My "cameraman groupie guy" bit was meant as sarcasm, which I absolutely 100% concede was written poorly and on reflection there's no way you could have known I was trying to be sarcastic. So my apologies if I offended, I usually do a better job of communicating (typing slowly so that I say things more clear), but occasionally my 'tism makes me think something is funny when others find it the exact opposite. Everyone here tends to get along, and they also tend to "flip a little shit" in a fun manner, and that was all I was trying to do because you were defending against my initial comment regarding the "pee a little" bit. It was my attempt at trying to "play around", but I see you couldn't have known that and I am genuinely sorry if it came across like a dick thing to say. I promise it wasn't intended that way, as Damien said you're cool and I wasn't trying to get into it.

Sorry guys. This is a cool community, and I don't post a ton but I do enjoy being a part of it. Last thing I want to do is alienate myself, so I hope yall can forgive.

As for Bobby, I don't have a problem with his toys but I have had a few "run-ins" with him after discovering who he is (all online, admittedly) and he's come off like a jerk or an ass each and every time so it has painted my perception of him. Now, is it possible that he isn't intending to be so, and is communicating poorly like I admitted to doing just now? Sure, perhaps. But if that is the case, then he needs to figure out how to fix that because it's not just an "every now and then" thing, it appears to be an "all the time" thing. Growing up where I did, you really could tell who was quick to get violent in a situation and who talked loud but would be afraid to back it up. It's something you develop living in a small town. Bobby seems like the type to talk and yell and scream at you but once you raise a fist he's calling the cops or running away. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe I'm right, too lol Either way, I'll leave it alone.

My 2 cents. Again, though, my apologies for offending.

So look, I'm gonna level with you. Everyone here (and I mean everyone) PM'd me and we had a discussion and we think we can all put this behind us and move forward provided you do one thing....

Go vote for Starhawk and the Guardians of the Galaxy as your boxset choice in this thread. They also didn't want me to tell you but if you don't, they all plan to send you back to the Fwoosh where you'll soon go insane and begin replying to your own posts. BUT I don't think it needs to come to that, do you? 😁

Everyone here just really loves and cares about Starhawk, especially @Damien who said he is about to swap out his Kylun avatar for a Starhawk one in support of his favorite Marvel character. Damien isn't one we like to see angry so we are just trying to get Starhawk into the final poll where we can vote for him to win and that my friend will keep Damien pacified and happy and THAT is a win for us all!

Don't send me back to the Fwoosh, boss...I'll vote for whatever you want, just please, not that.

The ads....THE ADS....🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕

I was gonna set up an AT Fight Club, but if you guys are gonna get all touchy feely then I guess I'll just see myself out.

Also, yes. We should definitely vote for Starhawk. I'll try to remember to do that but I'm not on the DC board very often.

No apology necessary, we're all good.

I don't know the guy and I can't speak to how he is. I have a soft spot for Valaverse I guess because I lost $300 to the Army Alphas kickstarter that never delivered but then Valaverse came through with the GCPD SWAT team that's been on my to-customize list since I read Batman Year One as a kid. More generally, as a scientist who's multiple times over invented technologies for companies that subsequently discarded me and stole my work, I have a strong tendency to sympathize with those bitter toward powerful former employers, and I admire that Vala was able to take his skillset and make his own way independent of Hasbro. Also, in a time of figure companies labeling everything as "premium deluxe maximum platinum whatever" and using accessory bloat (every character doesn't need a dozen hands!) to justify pricing out all but the richest of customers (a trend seen across basically all leisure items and experiences), I like Valaverse's decision to release lower price basic figures with optional, reasonably priced accessory packs.

i am getting a bit tired of balaclavas though.
