I had that a few years ago when I saw my wife's cousin's kid's room and it... looked like my room from the 90s and I did some quick math. In my head it was "Jimi" though, heh. Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan were my idols.
 
Hey Hasbro! Can we get this Mantis? She's in The Crossing... well, sort of... not really... but that is one hot looking Space Phantom!

He was retconned to be Immortus. The Crossing caused a lot of retcons, like Mantis really being a Space Phantom and the insect Wasp concept just going away...

If these sets are really happening, hopefully they sell well. If they don't, I can see Hasbro saying "well, we gave the Avengers another chance after the disappointing Anniversary sets, but it looks like comic-based Avengers don't sell."

The easy sell would be to complete more popular and enduring storyline hero and villain rosters like Kree-Skrull War, Korvac Saga, Under Siege and Operation: Galactic Storm.

Masque (the clone) was in the Crossing. Too bad they didn't include a Masque head with the recent Madame Masque/Crossbones 2-pack. Completely different costume, but I don't see them doing another variation of Masque anytime soon.

This is my fear as well. These aren't looks that were really popular even at the time. If they want to go for 90's, maybe do the Busiek/Perez run? The traditional Roma costume for Scarlet Witch, in particular, was a favorite of mine.
 
Yep - if we're gonna get alternate costumes for Avengers, I'd much rather have Busiek/Perez Roma-inspired Scarlet Witch and translucent "hologram" Vision. Pair Triathlon with somebody from the Busiek/Perez run like a unique Iron Man armor or Cap with the plasma shield. And, of course - offer the 2-pack of Jarvis (with vacuum cleaner) and his kind of ward Silverclaw and some of her animal forms.
 
So while I think the Crossing era stories by Bob Harras and Ben Raab were some of the worst written stories during an era of exceptionally bad writing... I do find some of the silly over designed costumes appealing.
 
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Harris/Epting/Deodato run on Avengers, so I’m down for some Crossing era costumes. It’s not what I think they should be focusing on, but since we seem to be moving away from the BAF waves that used to be the bread and butter of this line and going off on all these niche tangents, at least it’s a niche tangent that I have some interest in for a change.

In short, I think it’s a dumb idea. It’s just more appealing to me personally than most of their other dumb ideas lately. 😉

Even if I collected comic figures, I wouldn't want those.... But I'm so glad they came up with those designs.
