1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

I did the 3 biaohazard barrels and 2 each of the flammable ones mainly to limit how much more I need to store, but also reasoning that having a ton of flammable liquids just sitting around would be a bad idea.
A bad idea, or an AWESOME idea?

Hmmm. Interesting. seems they also make a sewer scene.

How do you like it? I’ve been sort of tempted by the High School Creations one but it’s kinda pricey. Ramen also has something similar in the works. I think both those companies offerings would be more durable.

curious to hear your thoughts on the set you got.

It seems pretty sturdy thus far, once you lock the wall and floor together. The door opens with a working handle and locking bar on the back side of the door (I found that out after I popped the locking piece off testing if the handle turned).

I have the deluxe Ramen sewer on preorder, and I don't doubt that'll be sturdier since it's injection molded.

I thought about the HSC walls, but after ordering a piece from him on Etsy that took way longer than he promised (with hardly ANY communication), I'm hesitant to order direct from him.

I like the HSC modern wall repaint. Was almost tempted in backing the Mythic wall, but I think it looks a bit plain. Granted, some weathering would be rather easy. Felt the grooves between the bricks could have been deeper and not so clean and straight to make it look less modern. That campaign had some lofty stretch goals. Not sure why he thought all those tiers were even a possibility.

Alie does have some Black Friday promo codes going on. Maybe I'll give the set you have a try.

I bought the knock off bandai smoke effects from AliExpress and they’re pretty decent for $14 or whatever I paid for them. I think Bandai ones have a little bit of painting that these don’t, but I couldn’t find the bandai ones for anywhere near msrp

If 3 seems like the "right" number of barrels. What about 4? Dear lord, stop me now!
Four is the second-most correct number of barrels, clearly.
Seems like it's 3d printed, and the wall/floor sections locak together to create 2 separate displays, or you can place them side by side.
Yeah it's FDM 3d printing. Not bad, though the look of FDM stands out to me too much. Resin can look a lot better, but it's way more expensive. I wish the look of the process didn't bug me, but I work around those printers on the daily and I just can't un-see it.

I bought the 2 piece sewer set today since this piece was better than expected.

A thin layer of UV resin might smooth some of it out if it's that much of a problem. Once I've had it for a bit, I might give it some wash and weathering to dirty it up a bit.

Yeah, there are definitely ways of making it look better, I'm just not quite into that level of post-processing. I shoot for other production methods when possible. There are some 3d printed pieces I've been tempted by. That console that Nostalgia Unboxed reviewed not long ago does look really good. And I think Gridiron, due to their color selection and paint touches often look better than most.

I didn't post about these in here, but I think I mentioned them in the Joe thread a while ago after I ordered them.

By sys3darsenal . He has versions in blue or black, some Drednok styles, and even branded Joe versions as well.

There is also something some people do with acetone . I don’t think it’s dumping it in there, it’s more like putting it in a sealed container supended over acetone so the fumes smooth it out. I’ve never tried it though

You could probably put some on a rag (using gloves, obviously) and run it across the surface to lightly melt the surface. That's sort of how acrylic fish tank walls are attached.

If your gonna try it a $3 barrel from AliExpress is probably the best thing to try it on

The barrels from AliExpress are actually metal, not 3d prints, which makes the price even more impressive.

I'm not terribly fussed about the slight texture from the 3d printed items I do have, so it's not like I need to worry about ruining something.

If I ever order something unfinished and need to make it smooth, I can always use bondo or gap filler to fill it in and then sand it down to get a smoother finish. I've seen enough people I follow on YouTube do that with great results.
