A big part 9f it is probably that the original depiction of the Jersey Devil has no human in it at all. They added human features to a cryptid that didn't need them.

I disagree that it wouldn't have made a cool toy. It definitely would've been hell to stand up, but they included a stand anyways, so it would've been fine.

The Mothman accessory is obvious. The mothman statue. Make it exactly like it is, then have their own version of the Mothman to show off how different it is.

He will sit on my cryptid shelf (that hasn't actually started yet) until a better version comes along. Then, I'll probably use him as a demon. I actually have a head that would probably go well on this body.

And I'll buy that when/if it happens. Honestly, with Loosecollector doing cryptids, and doing them very well, it feels like Four Horsemen are a little late to the party. Once you count tax and shipping, these aren't really that much cheaper than the Loosecollector ones either.

The 1000toys version is great. I own it. It's also a lot more expensive. And while it fits the style pretty well, these look even more like the comics.

Hell yes! I have the original Lei Zhenzi, and this updated one looks great. Their Nez Ha had some problems, but I still love what this company has made. These all look great.

I'd actually prefer plastic. You can't really make cloth look as close to the source material.
