    Star Wars Retro Collection

Well, the set wound up hitting retail hard, and in some places has gone on sale. I picked up an extra set just to have another of each army builder, but also for some head swaps. Gonna make a Luke Stormtrooper, gonna swap Ponda Baba parts onto that Yavin Luke body. It's still not accurate, but...

    The Story of Your Toys

One of the things I loved doing was with my brother and his toys, not my own. I would try to make stop motion videos of his Ninja Turtles with our big clunky VHS camera. Had to set it up on a tripod, and to my awareness, it didn't have a frame-per-frame click feature, so I had to press record...

Characters that could easily be made, but haven't yet.

Yes, the original New Mutants need new sculpts to match their varied stature. Rahne and Illyana need smaller bodies. Cannonball a taller, thinner body, maybe reused for FA Cyclops. But all that goes into another thread. This one is about existing base figures for easy characters.

Characters that could easily be made, but haven't yet.

I personally would prioritize the male characters in the modern suits that would match the female characters we have already. To match Walgreens Dani Moonstar. Then I'd love a box set of Cannonball, Mirage, Karma, Wolfsbane and Sunspot in their original uniforms. With Magma, Doug Ramsey, and...

Spot is always the first one that comes to mind. Nitro should be very easy too.

    The Story of Your Toys

The only recent adds (I'm talking last 5 years or so) to my MotU collection are Trap Jaw, Mekanek, Roboto, and Kobra Khan. All incomplete beaters. I did not have them growing up. I did have to fully replace Grizzlor, because I had foolishly fodderized my original for its pelt. I remember even...

Jealous that you have either of those figures. I've mostly been repairing, replacing in some cases, but rarely have been adding or filling gaps. I might get around to that. Same goes for GI Joe. You're also right, it definitely requires a bit more vigor to replace those hip bands, for me, it's...

    The Story of Your Toys

I’ve been posting about it in respective threads, but I spent most of last month restoring/replacing original vintage MotU and GI Joe figures from my childhood collection. A little at a time, but it’s really adding up now that I reviewed the month’s eBay spending.

I had planned on leaving them as individual robots for as long as I could also. But I caved within minutes. But I also plan to go back and forth. It’s just that Devastator combined is such a payoff.

    The Story of Your Toys

I made this post in one of the GI Joe threads: I still remember and associate what figures I was collecting with the year I was in school. I was born in ‘77. Entered kindergarten in ‘82. It was all Smurfs for me. First grade, ‘83, I was finally appreciating the Empire Strikes Back figures I...

    One A Day 2.0: Day #163 - Maximus Boltagon

Yes to Penance, but I feel like I'd want him more if we had more of the characters that were members of the same Thunderbolts team. Radioactive Man and Swordsman would go a long way.

BBTS is processing solo Venkman. They're adding a tariff charge bringing it from 100.99 to 104.66, which is lower than their current PO price.

    Age of Primes

I saved the first three Aerialbots to open once I had the last two in hand. They are en route via a shipped Pile of Loot. I still don’t know the names of each of the limbs, but I had the vintage Silverbolt in my original collection so I have plenty of affection for him.

That’s funny, I thought Long Haul was pretty posable for a figure of that build. I think the only robot mode I don’t love is Scavenger, because of the narrow waist. But I love his alt mode. I think my favorite is Hook. Just love the conversion for every mode. I considered a second set. $210 is...

    G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Poll - #18 Daina (Oktober Guard)

This one was after my time collecting, so I would pass on Hydro Viper. If they made one in Classified, I'd probably buy it reluctantly, but I'm certainly not asking for one.

I think Bariss is wearing some kind of head sock that exposes her hair. I haven’t removed the hood to check though. The hood feels like it might take a bit of work to get off.
