You guys know I loves me some Monster Force, but this line is so oversaturated now that I have to accept my enthusiasm was almost entirely powered by anticipation of Wave 2. It's been a minute since they announced something I was really excited about.
Like, O:MF Wave 3 has the Ambassador...
I guess? I mean, that one figure is 6 1/2", but it also seems like he's a shorter character. I'm afraid I know nothing about Biker Mice.
I may've lost the thread, though. Is the theory now that the Star Trek figures are 1/11 scale?
I dunno. Uhura seems about neck-high to Kirk and is the same height as the lady-cow who is neck high to the bull-man next to her. I feel that's a more reliable measure than a red line drawn across a table.
But I guess that means confusion does continue, sooo...
I did not know that. It doesn't make me more interested in them, but I get old collectors wanting to be able to continue their collections.
Now, if Mattel decides to scale match their DC figures with McFarlane, I'mabe mad.
It IS Declan minus the scar. They're calling it Wave 0 because it's kind of prequel figures to the main line.
In the name patches, he has one for "V Helsing" which isn't how that works at all.
I think I have time to see some reviews of Wave 1 before I preorder anything from wave 2.
I'm still kind of turned off by the 1/10 scale, for some reason.
If I had to pick just two, I'd say go for the Sleepwalker aerial assault trooper and the Delta Red Nightshade unit.
The Nightshade unit can either be Declan OR a vampire soldier (or a non-specific helmeted soldier) and comes with loads of add-ons and accessories to customize it.
The aerial...
I've no sequel trilogy figures, but I'm sure ready to get some. Like I said over in the movies thread, I'm less a fan of the films than I am of the characters, but I'm a really big fan of the characters.
My movie fig target is typically in the area between movies 2 and 3 because that's when...
By "heading up" do you mean designing or modeling the figures themselves?
I'm really ready to start collecting some 1/12 scale Legends-adjacent DC characters; is that the kind of stuff he do?
I can definitely see this. It's not a motivator for me personally, but I certainly see it in the success of "toy version" paint schemes and the fact that anyone these days would buy a G1 Optimus Prime.
Personally, my nostalgia is for characters, not toys (even when my appreciation for the...
I'd like to say this is the kind of line I want, but I think this is basically what Four Horsemen are doing and I haven't bought a single one of those yet.
It's also how I want Nacelle to handle their Star Trek line. Give us all the known characters, but make the connectors universal enough...
That certainly seemed to be the original goal behind Soldiers of Fortune.
Back in late 2023, FMF pitched some SoF designs on their Facebook Page, saying
"[O]ur upcoming Soldiers of Fortune 1:12 scale line will be a line of figures aimed at the army builder and customizing communities. "
I...
Given how NECA abruptly stopped making theirs, you're pertinent right.
I don't know why, though. 80s cartoons, retro toys, AND D&D are all having a moment. These guys should be hot.
Other takeaways include a more or less official nail in the coffin of Dungeons & Dragons, and an insane argument that Universal Monsters would win in a fight with G.I.Joe.
For D&D, I maintain that showing Wave 2 would have helped sales of Wave 1, but now I'm also pushing back on the idea that...
