S.H. Figuarts Marvel Figures

My existing Marvel collection would be in real trouble if these were bigger and less '90s-inspired.

Unlike me - I am all about that Scarlet Spider. I can't wait to get that one. I just don't think that character design works without the heavy shading and Bandai nailed it with that figure.

I need that scarlet spider so bad. Probably spent the last 17 hours trying to find collector shops that are based in China and Hong Kong and are usually first in line to get Figuarts and I’ve come up nil. I have no idea how collectors are getting their hands on these unless they’re receiving review samples.

I received my Scarlet Spider today and, as expected, this thing is gorgeous. It might end up being my only Spider-Man figure that I have in a fairly neutral pose because he just looks so good like that. And there's also the reason because his articulation is poor for a SHF release. I don't know if his waist is supposed to twist, but mine doesn't seem to want to. The diaphragm joint doesn't really do anything either, and his hips don't go out to the side for full splits (he can do the forward and back splits. He might be tough to get into more Spider-Man poses and he doesn't come with a stand either, but damn, that shading is so good.

I’m right there with you man. And no the waist doesn’t seem to twist because of how it was engineered. Either way though it’s still a stunning figure. The shading on this scarlet spider is so good that it instantly nullified every single other action figure that I have ever purchased of this character over the last 30 years. A bit of one of those “Where have you been all my life???” kind of moments

What a strange thing. There's almost a trend in place where waist articulation is being sacrificed in favor of a diaphragm joint, though in the case of this figure that joint offers little. I got a few NECA figures last year that couldn't articulate at the waist and recently bought Cardiac who also can't do it. I hope it's something that doesn't continue.

It is weird. Toymakers do realize that trunk rotations are a type of exercise right? Humans do have the ability to rotate themselves at the the lumbar region to strengthen their core muscles. Hell most of these super heroes wouldn’t even have abs if they didn’t do trunk rotations

Man, I like all the Scarlet Spider figures I have, but they sure look cheap next to this guy.
