Cosmic Legions

I like this GI Joe Homage subline they’ve started!

I don’t collect Modern Military figures so they’re not for me, but like Classified or Monster Force they’re something I can look at and say “WHOA! Cool stuff going on there!” and appreciate from a far!

These homages are cool, but easy for me to pass since they don’t fit in with the Cosmic line’s color palettes so well. This Firefly is tempting if he went on sale though, and it’ll be interesting to see what other homages they do in the coming years.

It HAS been a long minute since they've done a Cosmic wave. Wasn't sure if they'd moved on or not. I was a little underwhelmed by the last wave (face sculpts were great but I ran into a LOT of stuck joints and hands that weren't big enough for the weapons the figures came with) but the colors and vibes really popped. More interested in the second half of the Oxkrewe with the less bulky armor.

Cosmic hasn’t been a line that’s grabbed my attention much. I picked up the blue mech suit guy to turn into Mr. Freeze, a couple of the greys and blue snakes when they did the head packs, and plan on picking up a scout or two eventually. Generic sci-fi just isn’t my thing but no denying they look great. Hoping this is something more than just the next wave of alternate head packs they teased at Legions Con.

I wonder if this next set of head packs (the pink earless JarJar with matching hands and feet) or if we’re actually gonna see some new sculpts (or it’s the third option and it’s a spackle wave and get some Power Con homages and like a Purple Otho driving a Power Suit)

EDIT:
It’s head packs.

We figured the zombies they had for Halloween were going to be reused in some manner. The female still looks off with those giant braids, but I do like the Scooby Doo styled blue on the male zombie set with the arm and leg pieces.

I kind of like those male zombie parts and the new snake set. I can always use more varied members of Cobra-La.

I am both VERY underwhelmed by them doing complete parts reuse on the bodies, but I have been whining that I want a few human heads for Cosmic Legions for a while, so I'll probably pick up a couple of the humans. I've actually got alternate heads on most of those generic TUSCC bodies already but I don't hate the option of having a few humans in the mix. Shockingly uninspired though. I get the feeling from this wave they really aren't putting a lot of energy in NEW CL figures, just sort of low-key keeping the line alive with reuse.

Yeah, this is definitely an attempt to move old stock but there's some good heads in there and I love the "Scooby Doo" zombie parts. They looked really good on the couple Mythic examples they showed as well.

Having the human face plates be able to fit in the Mythic chainmail heads is also a real plus. And they're gonna get me with those snake heads every time.

I mainly watched the video to see if they'd discuss the future of CL and toward the end they did say a new wave is being released in 2026. No mention of when but there is something coming. Jeremy also said the second Oxkrewe wave wouldn't be shipping till late third quarter at the earliest.

My sole reason for looking at any of these head packs is for the reason you mentioned. I assume the heads will ship in their own packaging like the last Legions head packs. The bodies listed that they're coming with if you opt for the $28 combo packs (original figure + head packs) are the very same ones that have been languishing in the store for over a year now.

I wonder if he misspoke as he said they were wrapping up production in a couple of weeks (likely before the annual Chinese new year shut down) and then hitting the water. I doubt that will take 6 months unless something is really delaying boats significantly. Might be end of Q1, maybe Q2 at the latest. That Q3 estimate caught my attention too though.

Huh, that's odd because the website was very recently updated to say:
  • Cosmic Legions: OxKrewe, Book Two - Harrow Zone
This wave has almost finished production. This wave is slated to be on the water by the end of January 2026 with arrival in late Q1.
