MONDO Masters of the Universe 1/12 and 1/6

They're usually not that upfront with that sort of thing in these. Maybe someone'll ask at NYCC in one of the booth tours.
I'm just genuinely shocked that they haven't responded to the blowback of the sticker shock. Like at least dropping shipping costs like they did for RGB.

Funny thing is, the Storm Collectibles MK and SF figures people keep mentioning were sold at 60 bucks a pop or so at the start, and yet, the prices went up steadily. They didn't start at $95. And also the pricing was and still is character and license dependant for them, though.

Yeah I remember getting the Storm Ninjas for like $55 each.

At one point I had almost the whole line (to that point) and got whatever reason sold them off.

I’d say they were by far the best MK figures that have been made and at the initial prices were a really solid value. They were pricey but had like almost every effect part you could want, including fatality parts. Reptile had the masked heads and the reptile head, and the long tongue effect and like 4 sets of hands.

Most toys I’ve sold in very whatever about but I kind of miss rhoae

RGB went up before the tariff nonsense destroyed their shipping model which is probably how they were able to absorb it. And I think they're just keeping their word that the line would have free shipping for all four Ghostbusters (and I'm sure that tariff fee they assess helps offset it). I think it's the only line that still has the free shipping.

Definitely expect price creep if you're trying to forecast what this will cost. When I got into the 1/6 X-Men line the figures were right around $200. Jubilee was even under that at $185. Now they're $235 base with the timed/limited versions higher. And add-on shipping and tariffs and they're pretty much all over $300 a piece. It's brutal.

I did watch last night's stream and it looks like Clawful has better articulation than expected, at least in the torso. Hector had him moving around pretty well. They also show that exploded image of all the parts that go into it if you're curious about the engineering inside the figures. I had it on my phone while watching football so I didn't get a good look. They also always do a little trivia at the end and give away figures so if you know your MOTU 200X you might have had a shot. I do not, but the question was how did Skeletor get his face messed up, which seemed like a pretty easy one (acid was the answer, but some guy gave a more detailed response and they awarded him a set too).

If I bought Clawful, every day I'd have to fight the urge to scrape of the barnacles like you see people do on turtle shells.

MotU has never, ever been my thing but I was intriuged when I first heard about this because a fancy Dan premium 1:12 version is the sort of thing that could get me to dip my toe in. Just for the iconic 4 of He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, and Evil Lyn, right?

But! Given the price and the fact he's 7", the head sculpts are kinda weak, there's no classic Power Sword (come on, that's just silly), and I can't just get past his wee groin purse, it's a pass.

I'm angry about it, but I went in on them. I have no faith the line will continue much past what's been shown. But at the very least, they can be viewed as an investment. I'm sure they'll go for CRAZY bucks later down the line, should the line feel incomplete for me, and I decide to sell them.

Skeletor and Man-At-Arms are the next wave. Gray prototypes were at SDCC, and the last livestream said they MIGHT go up for order this year still. They also showed concept art for Mer-Man. Could see more at NYCC in a couple weeks.

If by "commit" you mean go all-in, be aware that there is not a confirmed standard release for Clawful as of yet, so once the timed edition ends, secondary market will be your only option. At least how it looks right now.

They mentioned the presale was going well during the livestream, but then again, one would expect that He-Man would perform pretty well. The real test comes from seeing how the secondary characters do. A standard Clawful is still probably likely. They often don't promote the standard versions until the limited/timed one is done. Or at least, that's been their operation of late. They also don't open them up to other retailers until their own sale period ends. Obviously, new line and all so there's some risk they do things different this time, but I think if this was your only way to get Clawful they would have come out and said it on the livestream.
