G.I. Joe Classified Series

I know Zarana isn't supposed to be super short or super tall, but I'm DYING laughing at that photo of her with Mainframe because as a five-foot-eight guy who always seemed to attract women who were my height or taller, I'm like "Mainframe kid, I can RELATE"

Also him with all the big guys is giving me flashes of myself with all my cousins, who are ENORMOUS. They call me the "delicate one" and one of them is fond of saying "yeah you're not tall but you can read and the rest of us are f*ckin illiterate so you won the genetic lottery."

I'm 5'7" and so is my wife, but for some reason I didn't see short Mainframe as representation. That's a good way of looking at it. To me, he just looks out of scale with the rest of the group. I've never really considered GI Joe characters to have any kind of height edict, so I just picture them all being similar in height.

I am used to not seeing much representation in GI Joe. It's nice to see diversity, and nice to see Asian characters like Quick Kick (albeit a funky stereotype of Asians) and Tunnel Rat, but I didn't see either of them representing me as a person if Filipino heritage. I've yet to become aware of a Joe or Cobra character of Filipino background.

Coming soon to the one-a-day thread:

If Mainframe's height bothers anyone too much, just have him kneeling down working on his computer or another piece of tech.
That should modify the disdain a bit.
Damn short, little shit .....

If you start talking to your action figure for mental health advice, you may have other things to talk to your therapist about.
I talk to the voices in my head because they're the people I can have a conversation with that understand what I'm talking about. Voice number 2 gets why I pose the TMNT with Daredevil. I try to explain that conversation with my wife and she cry's and calls the doctor. Women, amirite?

I was at EB today, here in Alberta, and they had two of the Cop. I was tempted, but since I only want him to basically take a beating from everyone else in my collection, I can't really justify the 52 dollars and I left him there. I think that'll definitely be an 'if I see it on clearance' kind of thing. But he's definitely in Canada, for those interested.

Well at least Pulse has updated my tracking number. Now DHL is waiting for the item. Better then nothing I guess.

Got one of those mystery charges from Pulse via Paypal and I cannot figure out what it is, but lines up withe price for the SNAKE, so...

Yeah, from last week until November 1st, every fluckin' piece of plastic Hasbro has ever put its stamp on is shipping to the people on this forum. We are all screwed! GI Joe, Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, it's all coming. We are getting flooded. I'm about to get a big ass boat and put my two favorite toys from each line on it and sail the f*** away.

That being said, OMG Mainframe is little. He is like Rudy. Just a little fella out there giving it his all. He puts the infant in infantry.

I got Major Blood recently in the flood of Hasbro toys. Great figure. I really didn't think he'd impress me much being that I have the Cobra Island Major. But this one really stands out as the superior version.

Dude you aren't kidding. I've gotten shipping soon emails from almost every Hasbro preorder for the rest of the year. These were supposed to be November and October. Now I'm broke cause I have to leave money in there for everything all at once instead of piecemealing it like it should be. Those Star Wars figures slated for January better be in January. I need a couple months to recover lol. When I finally do ship my PoL, they may as well just use a Uhaul instead of boxing it. I'm gonna just open like 1 a day for a month. Or 2 months. There's alot of shit in that box, and I'm sure alot of you guys got even more then I did.

I snipped a few preorders last week because of a $6,000 electrical repair bill (thank you, previous homeowner, for some bulllllllshit gerry-rigged not-to-code nonsense!) and I'm glad i did, but yeah, I've still got way too much stuff coming in this month. I've mentioned before I keep "action figure stupid money" separate from "oh fuck the house is falling apart" money so it's okay, but It's still a gut punch to get it all at once.

And then today we had a leaking pipe from the WATER MAIN. Fortunately it literally needed one part and one hour of work to fix so compared to the electrical stuff it's a drop in the bucket, but I'm glad I canceled that extra set of Slice & Dice :) Meanwhile I went to see about the shipping date for Budo and WTF was WRONG with me when they announced these goddamned ninjas? I ordered an extra of HIM too? I mean I was looking up my preorders and thinking "man I'd love to use both Budo heads but I don't need two deluxe figures" and I... welp, I'm doing the same thing I did with Slice & Dice, just keeping the one even though I'd love to display him fully armored AND John Wick style.

(Crap, wonder if Budo's head will fit on the peg for Mandarin? Because... Instand Keanu?)

UNNNNNNRelated to complaining about this wonderful influx of plastic. My partner's out of town and I want to take advantage of that by setting up a ridiculous photo backdrop on the kitchen table to get some shots. Sci-fi compound, or jungle temple? I feel like if I get the jungle temple set up I could do some Joe stuff, some predator stuff, and finally do "Han Solo and Indiana Jones meet in a timestream hiccup" shoot I've been meaning do to for a while...

I have a couple of male friends from Ecuador and they are both in the 5'6" to 5'7" range height wise so maybe he's supposed to be little.

Also got an 'order processing' notice from Pulse for my SNAKE armor
