McFarlane DC Multiverse

Yeah, Granny would be amazing.

And I still think Todd should take a swing at the Absolute Trinity at the very least. Plus the Absolute Wally West/Flash is pretty cool too.

Don't have much experience with the plastic Batman capes and the batmobiles... would the only Pattinson Batman that would work with the new The Batman batmobile the cloth cape release?

The longer I have the NML Batman and play with him the more I realize this is, of all Batman figures I have ever owned-we are talking 50 plus years hear-my favorite Batman head sculpt ever done. The shape, size, from every angle just makes a great composite of Batman. It can represent just about any era. I would gladly rebuy multiple Batmans using it.

First of all, I know nothing. But if Jayger is correct and July 2026 is the drop dead date, NYCC 2025 could be an enormous show for Todd. It already seems like his favorite show of the year and he’s regularly shown 20 ish figures every fall. Dates 10/9-12/25. Six weeks.

Those are some interesting takes on comics vs movie figures.

My thinking is comics have rebooted so often, there are so many different continuities just within the comics themselves, and the movies are just another continuity. Same with animation, same with video games, etc.

As for the live action figures, I consider buying a live action superhero action figure no different than buying an action figure of Han Solo or Captain Kirk. It's a representation of an actor in his nerd fantasy outfit portraying a character.

The thing about characters like Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker, and Captain Kirk, etc. is that they started out as movie and TV characters with actors playing them. So in those cases the actors are the characters in real sense of the word. For example, it's hard to separate Indiana Jones from Harrison Ford. If they made a figure and didn't look like Harrison, then it wouldn't look like Indy either. So those are definitely the exceptions to the rule.

Got my Platinums today. Mirror Master I is cool. But Platinum Metron is really slick. No secret I’m a huge fan of the New Gods, but he goes above and beyond. And I loved the main figure I got weeks ago. Really hope for some more Kirby goodness.

That's just because no one else has played him yet. Give it time. We used to say it's hard to separate Spock from Leonard Nimoy, now there have been three different actors who played him. In a way it's kind of like 3 different artists drawing the same comic character; same visual beats, same character, just a slightly different look.

If they made a figure and didn't look like Harrison, then it wouldn't look like Indy either. So those are definitely the exceptions to the rule.
Plenty of examples like that out there. How many Luke Skywalker figures don't look like Mark Hamill (almost all). Plenty of Star Wars and MCU figures that miss the mark on actor likenesses.

What am I trying to say with all of this? I don't know.....nothing I guess. Just typing out some random thoughts.
