NECA - General Thread

Love the classic Munsters; I'll definitely be picking those up- any and all.

Predator Badlands looks pretty good. So I take it Predator is one figure and Elle is another?

Grover is a nice reveal, but I needs me a Cookie Monster

Yes. Predator is one release, then Elle and the creature are a separate one as a two-pack.

I'm definitely going to be replacing my DST Munsters with the NECA versions. I've had a diorama I made of the Munster living room for a few years that has the family visiting with Uncle Gilbert, but I know that these NECA versions will be an upgrade. I hope we at least get the main looks for the family, and that they don't end the line with only Herman and Grandpa.

That's my fear, like they are doing with Dinosaurs. It is almost enough to make me not buy these until more are shown, which I know contributes to the problem but it is a problem that Neca themselves have caused.

EXACTLY! I definitely won't get rid of the DST figures...I'll just put them in a bin until I know they are able to be replaced

I thought the same thing.

NECA has lost all goodwill when it comes to releasing full lines. You've left too many holes in a shelf for me to trust we will get a full lineup.

If we see Hot Rod versions of Herman or Grandpa before we see Lilly or Marilyn, then we'll know the line has no legs. I REALLY hope they don't go that route, as it shouldn't be a herculean task to give us Marilyn, Eddie and Lilly at the VERY least. I'm not going to get my hopes up for characters like Uncle Gilbert or Zombo, but the core family should be easy to do.

The DST figures are really good, and Jean St. Jean's sculpts are pretty nice. I just know that NECA could give us some with better paint and articulation. The DST females in the line have a rough time standing...I frequently find Marilyn doing the "Smooth Criminal" lean. I know NECA could give us more stable figures, at least theoretically. The DST figures diorama pieces will be hard to beat though! Those were what led me to build the diorama I currently display them in.

I'm not sure we're getting much more out of NECA this con. I guess we had some TMNT reveals at the overall TMNT panel (renders anyways), but it's felt kinda lowkey and less exciting for a NECA SDCC showing this time around. Usually they've got at least one big surprise to get the conversation going, but not so much this year. A lot of stuff we already knew about on display, and a lot of stuff that's been released already.

Eh. I could see them throwing out a surprise, but the showing was honestly not bad for me. New Seseme Street. New Beetlejuice. Even the Munsters look pretty good.

I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer, but yeah...for NECA, this is a disappointing showing. This breaks a decade long streak. Things are fine...what's been shown. But nothing that's really wowed me.
