YHS/TOY ANXIETY Cryptoids?

I wish them well, but this line isn't for me. It's like a mash up of cartoony, but not. Almost like they couldn't make up their mind. Had they gone in hard one way or the other, I'd probably be in.
 
I love the idea of this Captain Planet type lineup of cryptids serving as Earth's protectors.

But yeah, there's something about these that I just can't get behind. They're cartoony, but they're not. They're retro, but they're not. They're based on cryptids, but there's not enough there to make me think of said cryptids. The sculpts, the coloration choices...

I'm just not feeling them--certainly not enough to drop 400 bucks on them.
 
Yeah, I just spent about 5 minutes trying to convince myself to back Bigfoot, largely because of the glow-in-the-dark bonus stuff, but it's just not for me.

Also thought about the GID alien or a reptoid, but $35 and $50 is too much.

I may grab a Jackalope as a show of support, if it unlocks.
 
I talked myself into the default Mothman. The colors look like they'll pop and I can find a spot for him, but that's it for me. If they blow past their total I may back out as supporting them is outweighing my desire for the figure.
 
So after watching their video. 2 things i noticed. the Alien is only 3.75"?? thats kinda small, not good.
They keep showcasing the Bigfoots with the helmet on but they look way better without it (IMO) im NOT a bigfoot guy/collector but i do like their bigfoots. that 'Gradient colorway' is genius for a bigfoot figure!!! I also like the Moth guy but he is only 5" inches?? not good again. Moth dude should be 6" inches so i can put him to fight my 7" inch Godzilla from Hiya lol
 
I'm not really surprised at the scale, because I watch their show every now and again.

They're really into retro figures. The He-Man classics. The old Kenner Ghostbusters. And then stuff like sofubi kaiju.

Everything I have seen aligns exactly with the core group's tastes. This also means it's not for me but it's not like I'm lacking in toys.

Edit: I support this though because they're fun people and I think it's cool as hell when creatives get their stuff out there.

They're the folks from the YHS (Yes, Have Some) Podcast.

They're constantly interviewing Trevor from NECA and Alex from Mondo.

When I read it this morning, it said the GITD was a bonus for bundles, not for the single figure.

Honestly, the closest line they'd go with easiest is thevarious Playmates TMNT lines. The wacky sculpts and colors on most of them fit those aesthetics best.
