While not super specific, I saw a video interview with Lenny and B-Mac and B-Mac mentioned that the DIRE Nightcreeper would be part of the March Walmart Collector Con.

Couple things upon reflection:

- I am glad to see they gave a few deco hits to the Manta Ray with Hydro Viper. I was worried it was going to be just a plain black slug type figure.

- I am liking the unmasked face of Overkill. Another great job on the face of a masked figure.

- I am not really liking the helmet for the dinosaur as much anymore. Definitely suffers from the cheapness look of the plain grey. A wash on it would go a long way towards making it look more metallic and less plasticky.
 
The Action Force guys have been my "only on discount" figures, and I completely rejected the first few rounds of them until I could get them deeply on sale, but that special forces guy I maybe won't wait QUITE as long as the others to pick up. He looks great. Might be recency bias though since I literally just got the HALO guy for like 15 bucks and he's really good.

Psyched about the next wave enough I put in a 15 minute meeting in my work calendar on the 17th to place an order. Airtight is this year's Sci-Fi for me, just someone I'm aggressively impatient for. (And Zanya too but the wait continues.)

I've slowly but surely picked all of them up (mostly on discount as well) and yeah, they're all good. I've said before I'm a filthy casual Joe fan, so I don't have much attachment to specific characters. For me the no-name guys are like my own personal Joe headcannon team. Need another couple of ladies in the group, though. We're getting a few too many dicks on the dancefloor. The only thing that bugs me with the prior releases is the HALO guy has a slot for a suppressor on his thigh but it's not sized right for the suppressor he has.

Anyway, as for this one, I love a figure with a beret, I don't even know why. Berets look cool. Also I'm not a Call of Duty guy, and I think it's massively overdone, but I DO still think skull face paint looks cool as well. I know I'm picking this dude up and I'm not even going to try to resist at this point. He'll be fun and he's got enough options I'll find a combo I like.

I have the First Soldier, 2 of the Marine Snipers and 2 Halo Jumpers, and regret none of these choices. Great toys.

Just an educated guess. Makes sense that they want to keep the name in use. Bounty hunter rather than straight Texas Sheriff hopefully allows the C.O.P.S. line itself to continue over at Big Bad. I'm a little worried that the first figure is about to come out without a second solicited.
 
In non- toy fair news, I saw Budo in person at target for the first time. He spoke to me.... but I really wanted him on sale so I left him for now. Nice looking figure, I like the Takara GI Joe font on his arm.
