I just got Spider-Man 77. Essentially same figure as Japanese Spider-Man, but I love this! I absolutely want a full 70s/80s Marvel TV display! Ferrigno Hulk, IHR Thor, ToTH Daredevil, and heck even 70s Doctor Strange!

I think they're same figure, but new head and such. 77 American Spider-Man had a very different mask from the Japanese Spider-Man

The MCU thriving definitely helps move all types of merchandise. But next year is Spider-Man and Avengers. If Marvel can nail these, they may win back some of that goodwill. Those are the big money makers.

Oh for sure, I am not saying anyone has to settle for this. I am with you all that this is really disappointing for those that want a Mandarin considering this may well be the only non MCU Mandarin they ever make.

Maybe it's cause I have nostalgia for the cartoon and I collected those toys, but the TAS look is how I picture Mandarin in my minds eye when I think of the character. But I am not sure even that look how Hasbro views it. Again, I am thinking they view this as the safest option for a comic based...

I think it is just them operating with same mentality that is behind what is now the infamous Jesse quote on Man-Ape. Which, I don't agree with and I think it'd be okay to do them. But they're the ones in charge unfortunately
