Boss Fight Studios 1/12 and EPIC HACKS

I just figured I would send along one of my Frank Cho Sonja prints to show proof of underwear.

According to all my comic covers and other prints with butt, it's definitely a G-string for most use cases, but do what you gotta.

So...what do you guys think of the newly revealed Boss Fight Studios Immortal Champions line? 5.5" MOTU Origins style figures. Conan, Red Sonja, and a skeleton are the first offerings.

Haven't seen that! Going to take a look and react in real time.

...

Back. They look cute. Love the aesthetic. Not my usual thing, but Conan and Sonja might get a home here

I also stopped in to see what you guys thought about the Conan figure, but apparently the whole last page was a discussion about nipples. I'm leaning toward giving them a try. I've bought a huge number of Mattel's 5.5" since they launched the WWE crossover, however, other company's offerings haven't caught my attention. I saw the newer S7 Thundercats at Target, but didn't bite (might've if they had Lion-O). I guess I need articulated elbows and knees to get interested in modern 5.5".

About those nipples. The first time I remember seeing someone sculpt nipples onto a figure was customizer Mike Cherry in the late 90s/early 00s when the only female 12" action figure was the GI Joe Classic Collection Helicopter pilot.

More recently, within the last year, supposedly a Chinese mother saw her son playing with one of those seamless TBLeague/Phicen dolls. It caused an uproar and the fully anatomical versions ended production. Hard to know if it was urban legend, business decision, or something lost in translation. It did cause a lot of hand wringing among a certain group of collectors.

One of my recent purchases has faint blue veins running through the musculature. I can't tell if it's painted details on the surface or if it's somehow injected into the material. It will probably fade away or rub off if surface detail.

The Immortal Champions Line looks really fun. I pre ordered all 3 today. Also, on Boss Fights social media (Facebook for sure) there is a poll to vote for what Wave 2 will be.

Either a Greek Wave with Medusa and Praetorian Guard, or a Dark Fantasy Wave with Necromancer and Chthonic Knight

Those 5.5" Conan and Red Sonja will go great with MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection! Hopefully we get Bélit next.

I don't like them. For the same reasons I don't like the Playmates PR figures. They look too cheap. Non painted weapons and single joints, for $30. No thanks. I'll stick with the more expensive good looking ones.

Does anyone know if BFS will have a stream to announce new upcoming figures? The last couple of years, they did that to announce new waves for different lines. I'm curious if they'll be making any more Fraggle or Popeye Classics figures. My guess is they'll be another wave of Fraggle Rock figures. For Popeye, I think the last wave may have been the last for the line considering how deep they got into the characters. If the line is done, I plan on making some customs of the remaining characters I want. But, I don't want to buy figures for customizing or start that work if there's a chance another wave could be announced in the nearish future. I appreciate any information or insights folks can share!
