ML Secret Wars

I sold just the shields from wave one and was thrilled someone actually bought them! I figured it was probably related to wanting to replace broken ones. I kept Titania's square because I lost her lenticular bit, so I have one in reserve. Also, the silver square's seemed like they may possibly serve a purpose somewhere at some point. :)

I am banking on @Resilient being correct in that we'll be seeing them in the livestream Tuesday. I even updated the preorder thread in anticipation.

Volcana seems like someone they'd have pretty wide latitude in execution - she doesn't have a costume, per se, she's just "lady on fire", and that doesn't always get portrayed consistently. Color-wise, I hope they take their cues from Secret Wars - when she's powered up she's more like Sunspot than the Human Torch, depicted as black with white-hot/yellow flames. That coloration plus the fact that she's curvier than most female super-types are her most defining characteristics. If they can get those two things right they'll nail the figure. It's also good news for Magma, cause they're really pretty distinct from each other.

It'd be super duper extra cool if Volcana came with an new, more classic head for Molecule Man. I know I'm dreaming now, but wouldn't that be something?

I like how you think, bruv. But that would make waaay too much sense, and be in stark contrast with their current practice of packing in random heads without rhyme or reason. They SHOULD have included a classic head with the original Molecule Man release. Instead, I was forced to use a modified J.K. Simmons head for my Owen. They also should have included a classic Ms Marvel head in with Dark Avengers Warbird.
And I get that Mystique can manipulate her form and impersonate people, but I've never seen her just change her head. Plus, anyone in their right mind would be like, "Um, Lilandra? ...why are you dressed like Mystique?"
Sometimes they do get it right, and when they do, it is awesome. I just wish they would think things through a little better.
 
The extra heads for unrelated characters with shape shifters is pretty goofy. What am I supposed to do with this Black Queen head? They're hardly a substitute for a dedicated figure. At least with Gyrich he can go on a more generic body. Going back to the Toy Biz days and Morph, I liked the head swap with Wolverine because Morph just wore the training uniform so it worked. The Cyclops head he also came with was less successful. What he should have come was a Gambit head since he actually did that in the show where he only changed his head - it was right there for you, Toy Biz!
 
I certainly understand how certain specific heads may not be terribly useful, but extra heads are my favorite accessories as a kitbasher. I'll always take whatever they can give us. I use them a lot and even for options on army builder bodies if nothing else. I've been know to buy figures on clearance just to have extra head options and that's true from not only Legends, but also Joe Classified, Star Wars Black Series, Power Rangers Lightning, Indiana Jones Aventure Series and more....
