Is it boring or safe? That's perspective.

Falcon needs an update. I don't even want it but everybody always talks about it so let's get it for the real fans.

Daredevil hasn't been available in several years from that limited three pack. I don't care what the card stock is, this dude is needed for people that missed him and newer collectors.

Same for Spidey. Who should be Evergreen but whatever.

Magik also long overdue, and she played a part in SW2, so I understand the hypothetical casen why they might go with that look with that card.

As someone who just throws the packaging away and wants characters, I think it's a great lineup. If you were hoping for more with the banner, I also understand that.

I fully endorse this. I'd even be happy if every single wave had at least just 1 never before done character. Is that really too much to ask?

Not as important to me but I'd also like to see a hard limit of 1 version of any given character per calendar year, but we know that's never going to happen. They'd never be willing to do that with Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America or Iron Man.
 
I'm also all about the new characters. To me, Constrictor, Falcon, and Magik are as good as new considering the previous versions are either hugely outdated or in costumes I don't have any use for. Absorbing Man is close to the same - I don't hate the BAF, but an improved classic version is absolutely welcome. DD and Spider-Man are the ones I don't really care about, but I'm glad they're included cause I know tons of people will be glad to get them.

If they show Secret Wars wave two on Tuesday, I'll be jittery until they reveal Magik. There's no telling what bizarre choices they might make to fuck with me, specifically.

I'm almost certain that I'll be at least a little disappointed. There's no way she has butterfly joints, for instance.
 
Magik is only wasted in a Secret Wars wave, since she'd have a perfect home in any X-Men wave. Or just a standalone release on retro card, like the recent Mystique. Volcana doesn't quite have the same ability. A Secret Wars wave seems ideal for her. Otherwise...I'm not sure we'll ever see her. Guess there's always the potential of a 3rd Secret Wars wave.

I debate myself now, because the question becomes:

Is Hasbro truly celebrating Secret Wars or just finding characters that "work" under the banner.

And even their most devoted cabal loves to claim lazy with them at any execution, so let's just go with the second. Temper the expectations.

But as we all have our own Legends delusions, mine will be Thicc Naked Volcana is perfect for an exclusive somewhere so we can spare the children in the toy aisle. And I still get my classic Yana (From SW2), so a winner is me.
 
I agree that Volcana makes perfect sense to be in a Secret Wars wave, but it's not thematic fit that's holding her back. If/when they decide to make her they'll fit her in wherever it makes the most sense for them to based on the budget for the wave. There's no shortage of options for how to get her out there. It would be nice to see her in this next wave considering her bestie Skeeter came in wave 1, though.

How do they even do her? Let's fantasize a bespoke sculpt.

Translucent? Opaque? Slide on fire effects?
