McFarlane DC Multiverse

I just picked up the standard version of Rocket Red this morning. That makes NINE McFarlane DC Multiverse figures I’ve bought in 2026…and we still have a week left in January:

Mr. Miracle
Metron
Jay Garrick
Ice
Zatanna
Elongated Man
Elongated Man (Platinum)
Blackhawk
Rocket Red

By contrast, I only bought thirteen Marvel Legends figures in 2025.

This is crazy. I’m not even that fond of McFarlane. They cut enough corners to turn a square into a circle, their prices are way too high, and you have to jump through more hoops than a trained dolphin to get the damn things, but man…

…look at that mofo character selection…and while I think they could (and should) be better, they’re still perfectly good figures in and of themselves.

I just bought a bunch of flash characters this past weekend. Picked up reverse flash, max mercury, Jay Garrick, Dark Flash and Impulse. After receiving the JLA Wally West I just needed more. Btw did Todd ever make Professor Zoom from the Flash TV sreries or Jesse Quick?

Found three Ice in Walmart yesterday and the re-used Catwoman buck doesn't match that art at all. I'm surprised that was approved. Which is too bad because I like her headsculpt.

I have Fire but I used her head for a custom so I don't really have Fire... but these are two characters I know nothing about anyway. :)

This month marked my 20th work anniversary. Every 5th year anniversary, you get to pick a gift. This time I was awarded 800 points, which is $80. You go to the work website and pick items that are available. Everything is through Amazon. I had picked out some practical items but just for fun, I searched McFarlane action figures and some came up that were fulfilled from Amazon and not third party sellers. I was originally going to get items like a trunk organizer and air conditioner cover but decided to get Wonder Woman & Godzilla for 800 points. It was nice to get that as a gift from work and not have to pay for it. I only wanted Wonder Woman so i guess I an sell Godzilla.

I received my MTS bundle of Flash, Ice, Rocker Red & Superman. I received my MTS bundle of Blackhawk, Cosmic Boy, Elongated Man, Prof. Pyg and Zatanna. I found and extra Flash (one for JLA and the other for the Titans) and Platinum Rocket Red. I found Platinum Blackhawk & Prof Pyg. I found Page Punchers Green Lantern Hal Jordan & Jay Garrick Flash. I have noticed that Kite-Man is in stock at the Target stores in my area and I found a Platinum version. With all of these figures and the Wonder Woman figure, I have a lot to open on Sunday while I will be snowed in.

The company I work for uses the same awards program. It’s nice to have so many options instead of the usual corporate swag.

I got $600 in "points" for my 20th year at work. This is by no means meant as one-ups-manship or clowning on your $80, just to say at 20 years they really should give you more than $80.

Yes it beats a sharp stick in the eye and something free is nice, but 2 decades is a lot of time for someone to devote to one's business.

I saw some article where an elderly woman retired from Walmart after 40 years (public facing not corporate) and all she got was a small bouqet of flowers. Most likely purchased by her other team members.

I've been trying to offload Godzilla for close to two months - you're going to have a Godzilla in your collection for awhile.

I have a friend who's about to have a son. I've decided that the $25 I'd get for that Godzilla everyone wants to offload isn't worth it and have decided to throw it in the closet for a few years. He can use it to rampage on his blocks or his sister's dollhouse.

What toddler doesn't want a giant angry looking dinosaur lizard 2/3 of their own body length?
