McFarlane DC Multiverse

The worst McFarlane stand experience I've had comes courtesy of Storm, Aquaman's seahorse. The combination of metal pole, thin plastic base and heavy ass seahorse has resulted in two broken bases. Thankfully, Target was cool enough to send a replacement both times and now I have it pretty well rigged — but I'm still scared to touch him for fear of another break. He's really great, though.
I love that sea horse. It works with McFarlane or Mattel or Mezco Aquaman figures.

I've had no issues with my sea horse stand, but if worse comes to worst and the base breaks, I'll just drill a hole in a block of wood and call it good.

I found regular Elongated Man, platinum Blackhawk & platinum Pyg at Walmart. I found Kite-Man at Target but I was hoping it would be the platinum one.

I know some Gamestops are closing but I think my Gamestop at the mall is one of them. After Christmas, they had everything spread out like they sold stuff and haven't gotten any new stuff in. Today, there were some empty shelves and they had some old DC Multiverse figures that they didn't have before. It looked like they put everything they found in the store room in the store. There were no STORE CLOSING signs, but it looked like they are closing.

Try the Mezco arm with bases offered by canofbeams.com. You get the great arm and almost the same stability without the huge footprint.

Does that one work? I have one I bought years ago when he first designed them, but it looks much larger than that one. I’m not sure that one would be able to balance the big Mezco one.

I never like to hear about people losing their jobs. Around here, we had a bunch of GameStops close a couple of years back. Including the one closest to my house. And a couple in locations that surprised me. Before that, GameStops were almost like 7-11. Every few blocks. Not good if they’re closing more locations.

Flip side is that of the ones that remain, there are only a couple of locations nearby that have a full complement of collectables. As I’m not a gamer, that’s pretty much the only thing I go to GS for.

I suppose that the website will continue on.

Blind bought Professor Pyg yesterday for pickup from Best Buy and was happy to get the regular edition. I remember when all these accessories would've just come with a normal price point. Sigh. I'm probably good for a while, at least until Larfleeze and Nicholson Joker are out.

It's definitely a shame to hear about GameStop. As of now, neither of my two local-ish GameStops seem to be closing, but I never quite know what's going on with them. They're so hit and miss nowadays though- long stretches of nothing, then maybe a day or two where they have new stuff, which I almost always seem to miss, other than things I don't want. I used to shop there all the time; loved the midnight release parties for things.

GameStop has been a pretty good online option for me- only missing out on the Jayna Superfiiend retro release- due to my forgetfulness at the time of drop. Visiting in person is a different matter. We have many and all give off the impression that they are just about derelict. Sad places indeed.

its so hard to tell with the local gamestops if they simply havent restocked after the holidays, or are slimming down to close...
im not a gamer, so the only reason i go in is looking for toys... and almost always leave empty handed

I have two Gamestops that I frequent. One that I went to today was clearly taking stuff off of racks and packing up, but were otherwise treating like business as usual - but it was about one-third empty already. No signs or notices posted about closing, but it was pretty obvious what was happening.

Wow, just checked their store locations on the Gamestop website and it has four stores listed as closed in my vicinity, including the nearest location.

I'd go in mainly for toys myself, and also almost always leave empty-handed.

the two gamestop locations I pass most often are very depleted stock for toys right now, but they are NOT listed as closing on the lists I can find online.

that being said, I have not seen any notable restock since the holidays. time will tell

The first Gamestop that I went to this morning was clearly closing. They had very little product. The one I went to tonight clearly wasn't. That second one I went to had the new Page Puncher Flash and Professor Pyg that weren't there a week ago. when I was last there. I left those because I already have the Plat Pyg and Flash is already en route from an online Gamestop order.

I also was delighted to find Platinum Rocket Red at Walmart tonight. It was clear that this wave had hit because I was seeing that Authority Superman just everywhere I went today, but only him... then I got lucky and found the the Plat Rocket Red. Very happy about that. I still need to find Platinum Blackhawk!

I missed out on Jessica twice being at work, lol. That's the first time that has happened. I've had it with work, calling it quits after working since age 16 and now being 62. I will retire here in a few months and I'm going to say right now I'm not going to miss it. Oh but on a positive note my case from EE shipped and should be here by mid next week.

I’m essentially retired too. Kinda unplanned, but it worked out well in terms of timing. I’ve not quite gotten into a rhythm yet. Holidays didn’t really help.

Im 46, haven't worked since 2018 for medical reasons. Got my first job at 15 so it feels weird not to be doing it. But needs must.

Meanwhile the list of toys Im waiting on is growing and growing and just not arriving in Australia which is annoying as hell. Not that I have any money but... you know, its the principle of the thing.
