Super 7 Ultimates Thread

I have wanted Tigersharks for YEARS, but 60 dollar figures with sub-Masterverse level articulation and an almost 100% chance they do not complete the team is pretty underwhelming.

Don't forget the eye-twitch you'll develop when half of the figures you bought are available everywhere for 35% off a year later.

And still fucking overpriced. They get me for a figure or two every few years at massive discount and immediately cancel the rest of the line (I think I caved when I could get Hand and Sheila for 19 bucks and they're still pointless without the rest of the party).

Glad to see Tigersharks getting some action figure love all these years later.

However I have little attachment to the brand and as others have said the price is going to be painful. I can pass and maybe see about picking up some of them in a couple years if I have enough interest and they are reduced by at least 50%.

Honestly, if they started making Silverhawks or Tigersharks in updated articulation styles I'd be so mad.

But I'm really ready for some Tigersharks. It wasn't as popular a show (wasn't even it's own show), but I really liked it. It was my first imaginary "cinematic universe" as I was sure they all took place in the same universe, even as their premises were obviously contradictory. So being able to have all the 'Sharks, 'Hawks and 'Cats on the same shelf is a lifelong goal.

But what is with that news release? Did they really make a pre-announcement announcement? And then I watched it?

When and where I grew up, Thundercats was the only show of the three that was actually on tv. Watched it every day after school, like MotU, GI Joe, Voltron, and Transformers. Silverhawks was a show we only were able to watch through VHS rentals. And Tigerhawks didn’t air at all, or maybe on cable? I just don’t recall ever watching an episode.

The Tigersharks announcement sent me looking back to see if there were any Thundercats or SIlverhawks on fire sale at BBTS or wherever and man, 65 bucks each for WilyKit and WilyKat when you get like, Xesray level articulation for that much or just better articulation in general for Legends, Classified, Jada, etc. for half as much is insane.

Even with the bad articulation I'd be in for a whole team of Tigersharks but not if it's gonna cost me import prices.

They're a total blind spot for me too. If Super7 has half a brain (and I know that's giving them a lot of credit already) they'll come out with a wave of essential characters and perhaps indicate what a second wave looks like. This is pretty damn niche and if the fanbase doesn't think they'll get a semi-complete team (as someone not familiar with the property, I have no idea how many characters would make for a complete team) it will be dead on arrival. It might be even if they do everything right from that standpoint because we know they're going to be too expensive as is. They're just banking on the few TigerSharks fans that are out there really wanting some toys and that they will just take whatever they can get.

I don't think I watched much of Tigersharks. Maybe I was tired of the Thundercats formula being used once again. I do remember thinking Pirates of Dark Water was a much better water-based show.

Looking at the character designs...wait...there's not even a character with tiger stripes? I could have sworn there was a tiger striped shark character. I must have inserted Marvel's Tiger Shark into this show. I don't think any of these characters would be tempting as figures.

Looking at the character designs, it seems like the thought was "Well, we got the crowd that thinks cats are kind of hot, lets see what we can get out of the fish crowd?"

I also have no recollection of ever watching Tiger Sharks, though I do remember seeing commercials for them. They weren't my bag, so I have no idea what any of it was about.

Count me in as being ready to quit Super7, too. I'd have been done with them years ago but they're the only way I'm going to get the Lunataks from Thundercats, so I'm stuck waiting on the rest of that team. I think there's only 1 more to go, though (or 2...I don't remember). The Thundercats line isn't even very good, but I've wanted Lunataks ever since I was 4 so they have my supple ass bent over a barrel waiting for their manhood on this one.
