It was good to see that they are re-releasing some of the harder to find figures like Antrax and Scale-Tail but where are Scratch and Hot Spot? Definitely the most rare unique characters released in the vintage line and no doubt a huge hole in most people's vintage collections (including mine).

My Antrax (like most) was missing his antennae but I chopped up Chrome Dome's weapon to give him some makeshift replacements. I may pick up the re-release to fix that issue.

It’s weird, it’s those rare ones that appeal to me the least because I didn’t have them or I stopped collecting when they had come out. I’ll get them, just for curiosity’s sake. But I’m definitely in for the reissues of figures I did have, mostly to have a fresh, complete copy.

I haven't been buying any of these unless it's a figure I don't have and is too expensive, mostly because of the lazy paint apps. I did get a new Krang to get a nice clear bubble because a lot of the vintage ones are yellowed and hazy.

Looking at these in the picture though it looks like they did a better job with the paint this time, best I can see

I have the Mutant Military four pack pre ordered on Wal-Mart.com

And much like the GI Joe Classified Crystal Ball, this Playmates Retro 4 pack has been delayed. Did anyone else get that e-mail?

Luckily, they didn't cancel or delete my order, but it is delayed.

I just got shipping notice for the military 4pk.
I have a shipping notice now too NORM lol. That was really odd. Yesterday an e-mail saying it was delayed, today one saying it was shipped.

But it does say in my tracking that it is arriving later than it was expected to. Oh well. As long as I get the set, I really don't care what they are up to over there at Wal-Mart.

I'm really just getting the set for the Navy seal Mikey. I have the vintage versions of the other 3. But since I open all my figures, I doubt I will ever pay the $400 vintage Navy Seal Mikey goes for, especially just to open it. I have looked at loose versions before, but the stickers are always messed up.

I'm looking forward to P-Danny's book. I picked up Rad Plastic when it came out years ago, but it's not a gallery of the line which is what I really want. I think Dan has been working on it ever since he finished his MOTU book so he's probably getting close to being ready to publish.

I finally got around to opening the Mutant Military 4 pack re-releases. This is a really nice set. The main reason I got it was the Navy Seal Mikey, and I think it is the best figure of the set and the one that is most identical to the original.

Because you were a bad influence on me by saying this, I ordered this yesterday when it was in stock and it was delivered this morning. I was trying to stay away from variants but I never had these guys and they look really good. Playmates seems to be improving as far as paint apps go on these things so they must be making money on them.

Navy Seal Mikey is my favorite too. I am a total sucker for action figures in wetsuits or any water based character really.

Thats funny, because I like wet-suit and water-based characters too. You and I like a lot of the same stuff. I love this Navy Seal Mikey, and the Sewer Surfer Mikey, or the Kenner Deep Dive Batman (and many others)

But I'm glad you got this set. Playmates are definitely doing better with the paint apps. These 4 figures are VERY close to their original counterparts. But Mikey is near identical to the original. And I didn't have the original Navy Seal Mikey. And the original goes for like $200-$300 at this point.
So, this is a nice alternative.

The problem now is I wish I hadn't passed on the sports turtles. I need to see if those are still lingering around any Targets next time I'm in Memphis.

Playmates hasn’t solicited any new retro releases, right? I saw the ones revealed at Toy Fair. Very excited for the old school Sewer Lair re-release. I remember begging my mom for it for my 5th birthday.

Last ones were the ones at Toy Fair I think, which was Scale Tail and crew if I remember correctly. Still crossing my fingers every day for a Scratch and Hot Spot.
