Spider-Man Retro 2026 Wave with Cardiac, Owl & Hypno Hustler

You know, I'm looking at it close and it's really not that detailed of a nose. I see no nostrils. It's kind of a hump, but it's definitely more than what was drawn in the comics. I'm not going to mess with it. If I try to shave it off and I mess up there's no going back. I'm just gonna live with it.

In all seriousness, why would they not use glue on Owl's claws? I damn near lost both of them just putting him on the shelf right now, and it's not like you'd want to display the hands without the claws. Did they just forget to glue them in place? I like the figure otherwise but such a strange decision.

I am, very begrudgingly, used to whipping out the superglue as soon as I open any Wolverine or a character like the Owl. I can’t think of a single instance in the whole line where hands like this needed “removable claws”, they all look less-good to varying degrees without the claws plugged in . . . I really don’t know. But it is a constant annoyance.

I broke out Astonishing Wolverine last week because we're getting close to finishing that team and was shocked to see his claws were... flaccid. I was just debating if Crazy Glue or Gorilla Glue would hold up better.

(Unrelated, opened Uncanny Spider-Man and Spider-Venom and I remain VERY STUPIDLY EASILY entertained by a very simple Spidey variant. I just find them to be hand candy that I like posing around the office and I keep buying the damned things but I'm never UNHAPPY with them, even if they don't do anything special. Kurt's sword grip is a little too tight for the sword itself but it works with a bit of umph.)

Glue costs too much money.

My first figure to open of the year was Classified Budo. Lemme tell you, I was not disappointed lol.

Do tell! What parts you got lined up?

I have a few options for cravat, depending on how voluminous I want it - either an old Palisades Fozzie Bear necktie or dremelling the supplied Owl scarf thinner and physically looping it into shape.

I’ll insert waistcoat front under the jacket to bulk him out a bit and lose the sweater. That’ll come from an old custom Jameson I’d made.

I’ll probably remove the beard from his chin and just keep the huge sideburns.

I have a few dark green capes in my fodder box that I might try attaching to his back, but I’d have to see how that looks - he’s pictured with and without, so it’s not a deal breaker if it doesn’t work.

I don’t love the tattered coat, but I can live with it.

Nothing too substantial - should be doable within a day.

Be sure to take pictures when you are done

I wondered if 2099 would be harder to attain as we get further out from release. I was never able to get one of the previous versions at a decent price ( which for me is always below initial retail).
I did get this new one during the EE sale; one of my four last legends of last year.

His head is sculpted as good as the rest of him with sculpted-in line work and mean expression........EXCEPT, Cardiac is never drawn with a nose when his mask is on! The sculptors would have had to have seen all the reference art, all of which have him with no nose, and said, "I'm going to put a nose on him anyway." We'd rather have accuracy at $30.
This 1,000%
The art is right there! Nope gotta put a nose on him.
