Does anyone else here actively hunt and display vintage figures? I'm talking 90s and earlier?

These are (I think) all of my vintage toy finds of the year.

Series 2 Red Ranger is my biggest pick up. All of the series 2 flip heads are hard to find and this guy completes my flip head set.

Captain Planet is one I've had on my radar. He's nice and clean, came with his ring. He and the Tick round out my 90's figure shelf.

Nurse Chapel completes my TOS Playmates crew.

My GI Joe Sky Patrol set has been missing Airborne for about 20 years, I finally found one, just missing his chute.

Tele Viper was my first GI Joe. I have 5 of this guy, but this is by far my cleanest one. He's minty fresh with no nose rub that all of them seem to have.

12" Stormtrooper is my first vintage 12" SW figure, now they are on my radar. My girls love this one.

The four COPS figures were purchased for like $10 each, them and the D&D figure are gateway buys.....I don't have any others but now I want some more.

Mutagen Man has all his little bits that float around in his torso.

I've always wanted a Dragon Blaster Skeletor. I got the MOTUO version but the aesthetic just doesn't do it for me like the vintage one. I may never find the chain and the lock, but that face is clean. I like him.

I found Robin Hood and the Sherif at Half Price Books last week for $5 and $8, never actively sought out these figures but I couldn't pass at the price. The Alan Rickman card sells it.

Batman Forever Riddler and Two Face was a good addition to my 90's Batman.

Even if you don't have a vintage haul to post, feel free to discuss vintage figures here.

I was really into it for a while but I've mostly collected everything that I really want (and can afford). Most of what is left for me vintage wise is stuff I will never own due to it being cost restrictive. I'm talking TMNT Scratch, the European MOTU releases, etc.

I've been thinking about making a general vintage thread here for awhile. Vintage related YouTube content has been a favorite view lately.

My 12" Star Wars I had as a kid are in the "Well loved" condition, especially Luke and Han.

Some things I bought in 2025:

For some reason I needed to reacquire Kenner Kitt. I missed out on one earlier in the year, then I wanted one even more. I took a chance on one from eBay that turned out much better than expected after I disassembled, cleaned, and used some plastic polish. Really happy with this and was in no way disappointed TOMY started funding their version a few weeks later.

Coleco Rambo Skyfire assault copter. I had my childhood copter, but it was missing an important piece, the top cover to hold the props in place. I bought a junker that had the cover for a lower price than the cover by itself. As a bonus it had a little connecting "cable" from the underside gun/light that I didn't realize I was missing on mine and it had a nice condition instructions booklet. I still need the winch hook!

1992 Kenner Power Loader. The line is from the brief period when I wasn't collecting, but I have bought some figures over the years. I can't believe I never had this. It was MIB and I opened it 😬

1986 Tonka Steel Monsters Enforcer. This is an odd partial reacquire. I found the roof and turret gun in my bin of loose parts, but I didn't have the actual jeep, so I purchased a jeep with a missing roof. An interesting small line, it's Tonka trucks x Mad Max/Road Warrior. It was from a time when guys from Mattel jumped to Tonka to work on action figures.

This one has been a two year project and something I'm replacing from childhood, LJN D&D Fortress of Fangs. Two years ago, I bought the main structure at a local comic show for $40. Since then I've spent about $350 on parts (it's all there in my eBay purchase history). I may never finish this with all original parts. The black gate, weapons rack, and three stones that "float" on the "lava" are difficult to find and pricey. There are 3D prints of all these on ebay. I have one out of three authentic stones. Besides those missing pieces, I need some repro labels to finish it off.

Neat thread to start. I remember playing with those Robin Hood toys when I was little. I’d love to go and collect some vintage toys from when I was little but the funds and space prohibit me at the moment. I do still have some vintage Willow movie figures but most of my vintage figures did not survive playing with my kids. In hindsight I probably shouldn’t have let them play with the few vintage Star Wars figures I had, lol but toys were made to be played with so I don’t begrudge them.

There have been a couple Fortress of Fangs play sets in my area lately. A local seller had one that sold and a local comic shop has one for $300-something, but I have no idea how complete that one is.

@yojoebro82 It's a tough one to complete. The last really important pieces I needed were the stalagmites. I ended up buying the main structure with almost all the pieces missing except it had all the stalagmites I needed. It was more economical compared to purchasing them through multiple eBay sellers.

Great thread idea. Every Saturday after Robo I watch Pixel Dan Toy Hunts and Toy Federation for a nostalgic vintage toy fix. Even though I don't really actively collect vintage anymore, it's fun to stay informed amd entertained by the vintage toy collecting world. I have managed to hold on to most of my childhood Kenner Star Wars stuff, and a fair amount of my 90s/early 2000s toys from my teenage years (I've never stopped collecting and playing with toys), but it is rare for me to pick up any vintage toys these days.

About once a year or so (usually on my birthday) I go to my local vintage toy shop, Pot Of Gold Collectibles, and snatch up some cheap Power Of The Force or Playmates Star Trek. This year I got a carded Stargate Horus just because he was like 7 bucks and I love that movie, but now I want to collect the whole line dammit. I also got a couple of figures from one of my favorite shows of all time, Dark Angel, from my brother because he knows how much I love that show and how few toys they made for it. Here's some pics of my vintage acquisitions from this year:

One line I don't hear a lot about that I had a couple of as a kid are Rock Lords. I think they were called? They were little transforming rock guys and I believe they had little furry creatures with them. I still have a pink fuzzy one with an opening and closing jaw. Does anyone else remember those?

Remember them? They've become my buddy's obsession for the past few months! He picked up one on a whim (Sticks 'n' Stones, who has two heads and was voiced by Frank Welker AND Peter Cullen) at a local shop and it sent him down a rabbit hole ... he's bought ten this year, I got him a pile for Christmas this year. My favorites are the Rockasaurs:

I looked up Sticks and Stones and that was the one I had! Him and the little fuzzy pink guy. Gnarlies were what they were called according to Google.

That's always the decision you have to make when you're trying to complete your vintage stuff with HTF parts, what's going to be the most economical in the end? With that Dragon Blaster Skeletor, I know that I'll be more likely to find a complete figure than his chain and locks all on their own, but I've been wanting one for a while and the figure I found was in good shape for a really good price, I had to bite.

I used to have Tombstone, that was the only one. A shop in my area has a couple that have gold vac metal finish that look pretty sharp. Might have to get back into Rock Lords too.

I'm at the local semi monthly comic show waiting for my brother. The show leans more toward comics, so nothing too crazy for toys. A vintage X-Wing that needs some clean-up. Stickers are faded, but the yellowing isn't terrible. I've seen worse for more money on ebay. A decent looking loose Blackstar (no accessories). The military guy is Snake from Machon's M-Force. He was in stores around the time of Coleco Rambo. I have a baggie of accessories at home and should be able to supply him his missing belt, knife/sheath, bow, and quiver. I think the bullet belt is from another figure. I may be missing only his dog tags
