Spider-Man Retro 2026 Wave with Cardiac, Owl & Hypno Hustler

I got an email from them too. More stuff gonna be coming out. Also got an email for the Jean and Scott 2 pack. Hasbro be Hasbroing. Everything all coming out at once.

So Amazon already shipped me crazy eyebrows Peter from this wave. And then Today at Walmart I found Cardiac, Hypno Hustler and the Owl. Had to go with the bird in the hand and grabbed them.

These are great figures and adding three brand new, never been done chatacters to my display makes me so happy. Merry Christmas indeed!
 
Hmm, wondering when Amazon is going to send me 2099 (it still says January) since he's already showing up at Walmarts. I'm halfway tempted to go to my local one to see if he's dropped...
 
I have the whole wave in hand now after receiving them from EE yesterday. They're all really good with perhaps the exception of Spider-Venom. I should have skipped that one.

Even the Spider-Man 2099 is more of an upgrade over the previous retro card version than I realized. It's much "bulkier", has much better contrast with the paint and is of course pinless where the other one wasn't.

My favorite is The Owl but really enjoy Cardiac and Hypno Hustler as well. The Spideys are the least interesting of the wave to me. The villains are fantastic!
 
Hypno-Hustler is absolutely wonderful. He's hanging out with Cold Slither and Disco Dazzler right now.
Owl is a disappointment. The color plastic on his hands and face is very Squirrel Girl neon, and the dopey H&M t-shirt under his jacket is just not his character at all. Too youthful and too modern.
Cardiac looks good, but something is off. I can't quite put my finger on it.

I'm playing the long game on this whole wave. Haven't seen a wave as destined for Rosscon than this since the retro Spidey wave with Spider-Boy. There are two I def want from this wave and one I might buy. Execution is so weak on Owl (who I wouldn't have waited on at all, since classic Spidey rogues are at the top of my wishlist) I can pass until it's $12, and as much as I love Hypno & think it's well-made figure, there's no way he isn't getting clearanced.
 
I've keeping a spot on my top 10 open for Cardiac, I have high hopes for the figure and high hopes that he arrives at BBTS before the end of the year.

What is that piece from? There are four plugs in the back, but I don't think it's from any previous Doc Ock or Iron Spider figure. Who had tentacles of some sort and a turtle neck?
