Gong Studios Hush Batman

October?!

Yeah. I called PayPal and they told me that it’s too late to process a refund since exceeded the 90 day refund process, even though I filed a claim back in early November, but stupid eBay wanted to just kick the can down the road vs help in any way shape or form they told me all I can do is wait it out and if it doesn’t come, leave negative feedback on the seller and write a message to eBay. Which I think I will, regardless of this outcome. I’m in the quite mood to say something excoriating.

Can you collect insurance from the carrier? From my experience, USPS will cut and send a check surprisingly quick.

He showed up at 11:00 last night from the shady courier.

Definitely no butterfly. I don't think I have the hip thigh issue or any other QC. Initially I thought I had two of the same thigh because of the prominent thigh cut you can see under the fabric, and even now I'm still not sure. But I don't have any range of motion issues.

The fabric itself is nice, I just don't like that you can see the sculpt under it, which is rarely an issue with mezco. And certainly, I've never had any soft figure before where you can actually see the shine of the plastic underneath, even on a dim shelf. The abdominals, chest, and the way the thigh articulation sticks out are what kill it for me, even more than any McFarlane diaper ruining a silhouette.

But the portraits are so damn good. And the outfit is beautiful, I love how they did the logo and I love the cape.

I got to sit with this one.

Yeah, this is a great little figure. Feels solid, holds a pose well. Quality soft goods, great cape and sharp sculpts. Honestly if higher end figures are your thing I wouldn't sleep on this one. I personally struggle to think of a better figure this year - although I struggle to remember all of the '25 releases.

Agree.

He's absolutely better than any Mezco Bats I ever owned (most) barring accessories, but really all I need is an alt head and hands and a cool cape anyway. My Bats are always pulling these Mazzuchelli lurking poses or ready stances.

Your predilection to do that with your Batman figures will become really poignant next year when that Batman Year One figure goes up for sale from Mezco

For anybody wondering how these scale/fit/display with the Mafex Hush line. I enjoy Mafex and the Hush line has been a favorite to collect. Completist no question -
My Gong Hush Batman has found a home.....

I think these look fantastic together.

Look at how terrible the Mafex Batman holds up, doesn't pose well and too much cape for an itty bitty body. The most underwhelming of the whole line. Hidden away at the back

Gong Batman stands out as Batman in a Batman line should, but not overly so.
Mafex Batman is soon for the storage bins

I'm definitely going to give him a shot. Year One is my all timer Batman.

Im with you there. I just purchased an incredible lot of comics off eBay a couple weeks ago. It’s nearly the complete run of the Legends of the Dark Knight comic from 1989-2007. Out of the 214 issues that were published, this lot contains 204 issues. For all intents and purposes, it’s a complete set. That was always consistently my favorite run of Batman comics as a kid because it hardly dealt with Batman’s rogues gallery and his supporting cast was still underdeveloped at the time. And of course it was all about Batman building his legend in the criminal underworld. There were a lot of elements that felt a lot like Frank Miller’s Daredevil run despite the fact that Miller didn’t contribute any work in that entire run. Can’t wait to read through all of these

I'm surprised by how poorly it's aged. It's beginning to feel like a Toy Biz figure in "I can't believe I ever thought that looked good."

Yeah. And it’s baffling why Medicom would chose to reissue that figure about 8x a year like clockwork. That’s nearly a 6 year old figure. And while I’m glad we’re getting a “2.0” with the battle damaged mold, it doesn’t look like much of an improvement compared to the first release.

I still think LPZZ will be crowned winner in this overall contest of who made the best 1/12 scale Hush Batman. But Gong Studios didn’t do a bad job.

That figure is forever my reminder not to compromise at this price point. It’s why I’ve never given in on their Venom.
