Tracking toy tariffs

I'm not defending it at all because it fucks with my hobby, but wasn't the de minimis thing supposedly about the fentanyl precursors that were being shipped from China? One of the geopolitical guys I listen to on occasion was actually admitting he thought it was a good idea for that reason. And part of the remaining 30% tariffs includes the original 20% he slapped on ostensibly for those same reasons.

Really we had a tremendously generous de minimis policy. Like the average in Europe was 190 euro and Canada had like a $150 CAD limit with $40 CAD for commercial shipments. With other countries also having policies in place for things like weight and shipping frequency as well.

I still feel like eventually, we’ll get some kind of reinstatement just with a substantially lower threshold.

I feel relieved at least a little. Hoping a more permanent (and favorable) deal comes within 90 days. We already had a 30% tariff I think so that's not a change, but what should I expect with this exemption that hammers Temu? I don't shop there, but how will that affect our hobby?

I plan to keep using BBTS and the like so hoping I'm clear there. The whole situation still makes me sick when seeing talent get laid off like that.

This is why I hate political discussion in the toy fandom because we just accuse people of holding politics or voting certain ways with no proof.

A question isn't an accusation. I literally -asked-. And got an answer that I've accepted. My question was based on just how much of an absolute skeez the guy is. It would totally make sense to me for him to vote in a way that he thinks might benefit his business even if it hurts his employees, and it hit a little harder seeing S7 employees, but not Brian, losing their paychecks.

But some parts of the answer are just irrelevant. A person living in San Fran can't vote Republican? You'll have to let upwards of 30% of certain areas of the city know that.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Ironically there is a KO of Optimus coming out with some nice add-ons that I pre ordered. That stuff is so discounted that this will just bring it to a normal price perhaps. Oh well, as long we can mostly go back to some type of normalcy it will be alright.
