That's the one. The overall sculpt is great. And I love the color scheme. he's solid minus that one gun.
 
Yeah, agreed, it's a great figure and design. I liked him a lot before my great purge. Now I have a Mando, and someone who never claimed to be a Mando heh.
 
Yeah, the only other mando I've got now is the deluxe Boba from the original trilogy. This one's a good'n. That gun sucks, but the rest of him is awesome and I'm glad I picked him up.
 
Ok, I did manage to get him to hold the blaster in a bit of a different grip. It's not as natural as the pistol, but I retract my initial consternation.

I don't remember having a problem with the gun. Is it the toy you have a problem with, or was it just the design of the gun itself getting in the way? It's not super conducive to action figure posing, I'll grant. I'm not a Boba fan, but that's a damn nice figure and it's one of the few SWB I kept during my SWB purge a few months back.

The only other Mando-armor figure I own is the all Beskar Mando with the Darksaber. That's a really cool figure. But I don't feel any need for any other characters in the armor, and I definitely don't feel any need for original-flavor Mando. Though I do give props to Hasbro for getting a new, presumably better, version of that original look out there for those that want it. I wonder how many people actually do prefer his pre-shiny gear.
 
If you put the thumb above the stock like in the photo, he holds it much better. Thats how they hold it on the show too. So its designed that way. Like Boba Fetts gun. It messes with the hand using the pistol well though, since the hand reforms a little.

That mando figure was also used for Axe Woves, and one of the Chrsitmas Mandos. I prefer the privateer armor figure though. It looks cleaner and sleeker to me, if you're going for generic.

The gun that gave me trouble with mandos was Din's rifle. I could not get that fucker to sit right in his hand so he could hold it like a proper rifle. I usually posed him with it leaning on it like a staff.

Initially both. But I figured out that he wasn't supposed to hold it in the grip I was trying, so now I just think it looks silly. But since it's mostly hidden by the hand, no worries. Great fig and I like him.

I keep telling myself I'll go back and get that one, but much like the upcoming Boba, my irritation at how the story has gone has put me off the Mando and Boba figures. The deluxe Boba I'm keeping because my shelf is at this point becoming more a pre-Disney SW collection. I really like the Boba Fett costume update, but good lord he's such a raging buffoon in his own show that it's unbearable. The decline on Mando is less sharp, but bringing Grogu back was a terrible idea, and basically sabotaged any of the future storylines I might've been interested in.

Yeah that's what I figured out like a minute after posting the first time. I do still think the design is silly for the buttstock, but it can fit in his hand fine, and he's a great fig overall. Actually think he might be vying for one of my favorites in the line on looks.

These days I really am treating Star Wars more like I treat G.I. Joe, in that a lot of the lore is just a suggestion and I do what I want. In that regard, silvery-fresh Mando is just a really cool space knight cowboy guy. He can hang out with Dash Rendar and they can have adventures together until Snoova shows up.

Yeah. Very much this is where I'm heading.

Also, in Star Wars and GI Joe specifically I want the no-name characters, because for whatever reason those are worlds where I am interested more in the vibes of the setting than most of the signature characters in it (with some exceptions). Like, I don't want a generic superhero figure coming from ML. I want Spider-Man. But I've got several codename-less figures from GI Joe and if Black series ever made generic Jedi and Sith I'd be all over them. For these franchises I want to headcanon more. I could delve into why, but that's my weird quirk with these lines specifically.
