JADA TOYS General Thread

Man, I always love adding to my Christmas collection, but that price tag is a TOUGH swallow. I'll probably break eventually, but it's far down the line as far as my toy finance priority goes.
Feel exactly the same way. I have a shelf by my front door and I like to swap out the figures on display for the seasons so I’ll probably cave but it feels a bit hefty

I got the old "Pre-order processing soon," email from BBTS for Frosty. I am somehow both excited by this one, but also have lowish expectations.

I am expecting the figure to be pretty good, but I also have mixed feelings about getting the email from bbts. At the price, I was not planning to get the figure, until my son saw it on my phone as got really excited for a Frosty figure. He has probably forgotten about it at this point, but I'm still torn whether or not to cancel my pre-order.

I should clarify that I think the figure will be fine, but I don't see it earning that price point, but maybe I'll be surprised.

I got Frosty in today. He's mostly as expected. He's very lightweight which gives him a bit of a cheap feel, but the presentation is nice and the joints are all smooth. They hit him with a slight pearlescent coat of paint to give him a little snow-like shimmer so he's not just bare, white, plastic. At first I thought his head sat too high, but it's on a double ball peg so you can just rock it forward to close any gaps present. Waist cut doesn't really do much so I question the need for it. Legs don't do much of anything, but I don't think folks were expecting a ton of posing potential out of him. Hocus is cute and his head comes off so you can put the other hat on him. Balance is tricky so I wish he had a stand. He also is mostly bare, white, plastic and could use a little extra something. Yeah, probably overpriced by a good 10 bucks, but I do find this goofy snowman incredibly charming so the price paid isn't exactly weighing heavily on my mind.

The two upcoming releases from Jada I’m most excited about are the Fred and Barney cereal figures. Unless I missed some pics somewhere, they seemed to be m.i.a. at NYCC,and I haven’t heard any mention of them in recent interviews. I feel like we should be seeing preorders for these two any time now. I hope they haven’t hit any production, or legal snags. Anyone hear anything lately?

Nice timing. Toy Migos posted this interview with Juhn yesterday. Juhn said Fred and Barney should go up for pre-order before the end of the year and will ship sometime early to middle next year. It sounds like it's a bit up in the air if or how they'll continue the "line" because getting licenses for food products is tougher than entertainment properties. They're broadening the line to cover Ad Icons. I would prefer the line stay more focused, but I understand why they need to broaden it out to find easier characters to license.
