X-Men '97

Has anyone gotten the Wolverine 2 pack and can test masked head swaps with any other releases for a comic aesthetic kitbash? Does this yellow match any previous release?
Looks more orangey from all the pics I've seen. I think you're looking at tiger strip Wolverine from the Apocalypse BAF wave if anything. MAYBE the Secret Wars Wolvie if we're lucky. Beyond that I think it's a toss up on unmasked heads if any blend with that skintone which looks very tan, so likely other 97 Logan heads, maybe the Xtreme X-Men one just from the one's I've looked at.

So I opened Emma. I still have Cable and Morph to do, but I'm piecemealing them. Emma is just... wow. Besides the plastic shell, she is stunning. Head to toe. I hollowed out both her heads better so as not to snap the peg since I've seen a few breakage issues with her. And I will be ordering a cloth cape for her in the near future. But her portraits are gorgeous. And the rest of the figure is really well done as well. I compared her height to Astonishing Emma, and shes a bit taller. But its cause her heels are larger. From ankle to head shes the same height, the feet give her the boost. Still, amazing figure. Cable and Morph look to be as well. I'll open them soon.

I was looking for spots to put her, not sure where yet. But I looked at the 97 Scott and the 2 pack Havok, and I compared them side by side. I can completely see them doing a new Havok on the 97 body. And I'd be all for it. This Havoks knees bow out after 2 seconds of standing.

I do like Emma, and the little details that get her to stand out from previous Emmas- the red jewel, the fur on the cape, the added blue elements to her costume to help break up the white. But man, I'm having a hell of a time standing her. She joins the Goblin Queen from wave 2 as a member of the Sisterhood of Fabulous But Hard To Balance Footware. Even tried a couple different stands and leaning her against other figures but even then, it's only a matter of time. But visually, yes, quite stunning.

Speaking of Emma, actually- I know her powers aren't always visual, but has anyone made used or made any parts to simulate Emma's powers? Much as I do love the figure, I'd love to spruce it up somehow, but I can't really think of anything to give her, especially crystal-wise. Times like these I wish I had a 3D printer and actual talent.

I don't know why it's too much to ask for heeled characters to just come with a little clear foot-peg stand. That's all they really need. I used to use the Marauder stands for a few of the characters I had with heels and it worked great to just create that bigger footprint they need to stand properly. It's such an easy solution.

Nah, heels are part of the look. It's like saying throw away the belt because who cares? A lot of us care.

Exaggerating the footprint a little bigger to help standing? Sure. Stand? Absolutely.

I've had no issues with standing Emma - Jubilee is the one who still falls all the time and she's got flat feet. It's all in the engineering, and Emma is engineered well.

Rogue/Gambit charged last night and the release date got bumped up to tomorrow. Found that out by going to the website, not a heads-up from Pulse. Thanks, HP.

These figures I agree with. I can slam Emma and Maddie down like pogs and they'll stick it.

Jubilee is a domino of doom, I finally just leaned her on Logan and locked her down around his shoulder pad.

Im holding out hope that either the Apocalypse wave, Juggernaut wave or first retro will be a close match.

In hand look at basketball Gambit and Rogue.

That ab crunch on Gambit doesn't get any more excusable in hand. It looks horrendous. Looks like the Rogue head from this pack does indeed fit nicely onto the standard Rouge. If she were sold individually I'd buy her for the head alone. I can't with this two pack, though. Had they done Gambit right this might have been a purchase.

(Is that the same b-ball hand they're giving Big Lob? Even though I'm almost 100% sure he didn't play b-ball in the movie?)

Yeah I was thinking that the big lob hand was going to be reuse from the NBA line.

I got nothing for Gambit. I basically bought that for the Rogue head. It's my shame.

I went to cancel the two-pack and saw it already charged earlier today or last night. It's fine, I've committed graver buying sins, but man that Gambit is awful. Rogue looks nice though.

This is what I use. I bought a bunch of them for battle droids and heeled women. They work great. Droids are a little less great since they don't fit the pegs as well, but they're awesome for heels.

I bought this 2pk mostly because it's the closest we'll ever get to a basketball court Gambit from X-Men #4 I believe it was. Judging from the skintone is Daemon Hellstrom a candidate for a chest swap? I would think long-haired "Extreme" Namor would be too tanned. Trying to think of other barechested male characters with similar skintones...

When this Gambit and Rogue set starts to get discounted I’ll try and pick one up cheaper, I’m inclined to try and replace the Gambit torso with a classified one but would rather put the money saved on the 2-pack towards finding a suitable donor than pay full price for it.
