McFarlane DC Multiverse

I'm going to amend my answer on what I want from McFarlane in their final year of the line: make it so people can actually buy the figures they want! Enough with the scarcity crap!

I've had more problems with Gold Labels than I've even had with Platinums. Some of that is that my local retailers suck, but everything should be available online.

I ordered the Jade / Lt James Gordon / SA Bizarro wave 9 different times from Walmart when it showed in stock over a few months and nine different times they cancelled it for being out of stock. WTF?!? These never hit the shelves at a Walmart near me. @RicksNerdLife hooked me up with Jade. I ended up paying over twice retail for Gordon. I gave up on Bizarro.

Target Gold Label Geo-Force. Never hit shelves of a Target near me. I had to pay around twice retail on ebay for him. Kite-Man was the same but was able to order from McF Toy Store.

Platinum Lightning Lad. Gave up. Walmart exclusive.

Movie Bank Robber Joker. Gave up.

It shouldn't be so much work to give a company your money for their product.

The early rumors of where Mattel is going begin....

Below is a post from an Admin on the Super Powers Facebook group. He has proven to have some insider information in the past. Whether it is true or not, time will tell. I believe this post is public and accessible by everyone, but if you can't see it, the relevant part is quoted below.

Regarding the adult line - I’ve heard scuttle from sources about line names and body bucks etc - the only thing I’ve been consistently told is that they’ll be 6” again - which I’m stoked about, but I know a lot of collectors that came onboard the last few years in the McFarlane years won’t be.

Great news for me and many, not so much for others...

That would be my thoughts as well, but I don't see it happening. I'm not a fan of the Gold Label, Platinum, and Red Platinum chases, nor could I really tell you the difference between any of them. Sometimes one is more rare, sometimes it's the other, but none of them need to exist. And never tie an army builder to an exclusive of any sort. I'd have loved to have army built at least a couple Superman Robots, but I only ever found one single one on the pegs anywhere because they were tied to a stupid colored chase gimmick. We'll never see the day where store exclusives end altogether, but I agree- producing more to meet the demand is imperative. Sure, it's still up to the store itself to order more, but they can't order product that doesn't exist.

I do hope that, once Mattel starts up again and some people start purging their McFarlane figures, that some of them are easier to get. I'd still love to pick up an Interrogation Room Joker and Joaquin Phoenix Joker, but having the same issues- they're hard to find for decent prices.

If anyone is looking for Extant/Cheetah - I followed the GameStop links here and ordered them without a fuss: https://dccollectors.com/2025/10/17/mcfarlane-cheetah-and-extant-up-for-pre-order-today/
Thanks for posting the GS link - I came into the thread to gripe about forgetting Cheetah went up today and Walmart already being sold out. Appreciate you saving me from my own temper tantrum.

Also going to GS made me discover that Guardian is already in stock?

Missed Cheetah both places, was able to order Extant only at Gamestop, but of course that means a $7 shipping charge as well since only getting the one... this is what I was talking about in my earlier post. Why does it have to be this hard? The difficulty purchasing some of this stuff is such a big middle finger to the consumer....

Got my shipping notice on The Duck today.

I forgot they were going up today, I missed Cheetah and I was about to check out with Extant and realized I just don't really care enough to pay full price. So I removed it from cart.

Congrats on the duck shipping! My duck has been sitting on "preparing to ship" since Monday.

I was checking the Walmart website early for Cheetah & Extant in case they went up for preorder before 9 am EST. They were still showing up as Out of Stock. I had stuff to do in the mean time & I went to cut my grass after 11 am, thinking I had enough time to finish before noon. I got to my computer at 12:01 pm and Cheetah was still Out of Stock but I was able to order Extant with free shipping. If it wasn't for the links people posted I would never had see these. I searched on the websites & Google and nothing came up for Walmart or Gamestop.

Yesterday I received Hush Riddler from Gamestop & Batman Returns Penguin from Entertainment Earth. Today I got Guardian from Walmart. Packages are usually left on my porch but whoever delivered the Penguin package left it on the wall next to my garage. I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't looked back at my house while pulling out of the driveway.

I just went to Gamestop and they had Page Punchers Superman and Extant. I was going to get Extant and cancel my order from Walmart, but I got street dated to Oct 25 for Extant.

That's horseshite. It's on them for putting it on the shelf. Did they at least offer to hold it for you to pick up next week?

Have you guys run into this? My Gamestop told me a couple of weeks ago that they no longer accept returns of any action figures or collectibles, no matter the timeframe or whether they've been opened. I had never run into that before. I was trying to return a DC Multiverse Batwing 2.0 figure that I'd bought 7 days prior, did not open and there was no damage to the box and had receipt in hand from that same store. I was quite surprised by that "policy." I rarely return anything and hadn't had this happen before.

That is not the policy on the website.

GameStop makes returns such a hassle and is one of the reasons I rarely shop there, but bc Todd I ended up getting Batgirl and Scarecrow from them and Batgirl shipped the day I went to cancel. So now I have two Batgirls I don't want. But returning it to GameStop is so unpleasant and the line potentially so long.

I visited a card shop recently and the difference between that setting and a comic store/GameStop was striking - LOTS of staff. I was shocked.

I was going to ask them to hold it for me, but since I had an order in for Walmart, I didn't bother. I would have if it was Cheetah. Hopefully they have Cheetah then so I know when to go again.
