Tracking toy tariffs

Out to sea?? I'd rather put them in Jeff Bezos' rocket and point them directly into the sun.
Any direction really.

I haven't seen it here, so apologies if I'm repeating, but that Brutal Realm Kickstarter line isn't even taking it to factory for now.

Was meant to deliver wave one this summer, but now they have mentioned they can't even afford to go to production at the moment.

I went in on the Athena, and now I am sad.

Yeah . . . not to be overly negative or actually creepy, but:
Nothing is going to get materially better until the billionaire class is straight-up afraid of what will happen to them if they don’t straighten the fuck up and start acknowledging the needs of the “lower” classes.

And when I say “afraid”, I mean “mortally afraid”. Appealing to their humanity won’t work. They need to fear for their lives.

"But if there was hope, it lay in the proles. You had to cling on to that. When you put it in words it sounded reasonable: it was when you looked at the human beings passing you on the pavement that it became an act of faith.''

That’s gonna be pretty common. I’m expecting a dry late summer and fall for toys manufactured in China.

We might hit the five year mark for the Skeletron 6 inch figures at this point.

Also I could see items like the sentinel being delayed as well.

Well, I think that was the case there for a minute when a certain Mario Bros named individual put some fear into them and made the rest of them realize their money didn't make them immortal.

I don’t know if it’s tariff related but I just checked out the Spero Toys site and their figures are $10 more expensive than they were last month. It’s gotta be tariff related, yeah? I went a little overboard buying them direct from their site and felt guilty spending the money, but looks like I bought most of the figures I wanted before the price hike. I hope this stuff doesn’t push them out of business. They make such great figures.

Pre-orders, you mean? Or did they raise prices on in-stock product? Because that would be clownshow levels of bullshit.

Aaron Rupar interviewing Bessent on if he's concerned about empty shelves: "Not at present. We have some great retailers. I assume they preordered."

I swear we need to round up all these Ivy League mba fin bros and put them on a raft and push them out to sea. Zero humanity.

They're utterly clueless. Even the language -- 'I assume they pre-ordered.' First of all... how does that help? If I pre-order a bunch of toys right now do I get to avoid all the tariffs, then? Also, he knows better. He's just being a fucking asshole because none of these assholes are being held to account for BEING assholes.

I'd like to include Jeff and the rest of those billionaires on that rocket too. None of them care.

Guys, guys. You are being ridiculous. It takes less Delta-V to launch these people out of the solar system than it does to launch them into the sun. You really want to go through that much extra fuel? In THIS economy?

Under Capitalism, wealth inequality is violence. I think we all agree/understand that. Forget making them mortally afraid. Make the MILLIONAIRES mortally afraid by killing all the billionaires. In theory, of course. We will never have peace or equity in our lifetimes as long as we allow billionaires to exist. Period. There is no middle road. There is no finding a way to get along and make Capitalism work for 'all of us.'
That's why we're losing the class war. The best, probably only, way out of it is unthinkable to moral people. So the immoral people keep winning.

Since we're grinding this ledge. Last year people were pushed to the brink several times. And yet in this first hundred days, has there been anything?

A little too Raph.

Dammit I hadn't even thought about this one yet! Uggh. Every nice thing gets ruined. My Roboskull needs its pilots dangit!

I mean it sucks but I’m gonna blame Ben Conway, Marauders, and Skeletron for them not coming out if something happens rather than the tariffs. Fulfillment and development of the six inch figures from a timeline stand point has been ridiculous considering all the other frivolous stuff they’ve put out and all the cons they’ve been doing.

I guess I'm not aware of any frivolous stuff they've put out beyond the stuff that was already on the roadmap for release. Them doing cons is basically immaterial though. That's drumming up sales for the stuff they do have or did have on preorder. I'd assume any company would do that, and it wouldn't affect production positively or negatively either way since it's being produced overseas.

They have taken a good long while, but so far everything I've paid for that I've received was better than expected and the money itself is long in the rearview mirror.

Yeah, why waste the rocket full. Cement is cheaper. I think I suggested out to see cos drowning is a horrible way to go.

In-stock prices. I bought probably eight? figures from them a month ago at $24.99 and everything is now $34.99. Although the reason I bought directly from them is Amazon and BBTS sell their figures for $37.99 and they don't feel like almost-$40 figures, as much as I like them.

And yeah, "I assume they pre-ordered" is something a rich guy says when he doesn't understand how it all works. It smacks of "how much does a banana cost, ten dollars?" to me.

I don't even think it's a rich-guy thing, it's just pure ignorance. This administration seems incapable of second-order thinking.

I already have a storied history of not respecting Spero at all, but even for them that's complete bullshit. Smacks of 'let's just raise prices while everyone is expecting prices to go up' kind of opportunistic garbage. I'd love to know one legitimate reason why a toy company needs to raise prices on the stuff that's currently sitting in a warehouse in the USA for US customers. Explain it like I'm five.

Dude, even just starting the statement with 'I assume' is just fuckin' WILD. Like, what do you mean you ASSUME? Did you not bother to look into how ANY of this works before you started talking or like.. destroying the country? What in the fuck.

It'd be hilarious if Trump actually pushed the lower classes into class solidarity.

Speaking of Temo, this cracked me up today. This is the median American voter.

This is what the Republicans have wrought. Utter destruction of education, and a decades-long war against knowledge to the point where people are flag-waving proud of not knowing anything about anything because learning a single fact in your life is a liberal, far-left plot to make you a gay trans welfare queen college student, or something.

I only just started looking at the line back in March, no idea of the history. Didn't know they'd pulled shit before. I just liked the monkeys and cats. Jumping the price this much though I'm glad I bought what I wanted at the time.

the "I assume" thing is so arrogant, but it's so on brand for that specific type of shitheel. I have a friend who works for one of the Ivy League business schools (in a support role; he'd rather do anything else with his life but it's allowing him to take care of his family, so he cashes the checks) and he basically says in all his years he's never seen a decent human being pass through the program. They're all psychopaths. Finance guys like Bessent are like aliens. Zero regard for human life.
