Not sure I'm properly sharing the image here, but I would just like to openly declare to McFarlane that if they include a half-dozen extra heads for Olaf, Hendrickson, Stanislaus, Chuck, Andre and, uh, "Chop-Chop", to round out the team of Blackhawks, they will sell 6 more figures to me.

Man, it hits me every time I see it but Stanislaus is such a fake Polish name that I just can't.
 
I take it everyone who's receiving the Penguin Commandos ordered just them? Cuz I ordered the bundle from MTS, including the commandos, and haven't had any movement. Never thought I'd have FOMO from little plastic penguins, but here we are. 😅

Speaking only for myself, that's correct. I ordered the Penguin Commandos alone from MTS, The Duck from Gamestop and skipped pre-ordering the rest. I found the whole wave including Max Schreck at Target this past Saturday though and still passed on Batman and Penguin - but did pick up Max and Catwoman. I only picked up Catwoman to get the $20 off $75 deal so basically got her for $15. I hadn't planned on buying her othewise. I've already got an '89 Batman and am getting the Penguin with The Duck and his coat with the Penguin Commandos.
 
Have folks been finding Mr. Miracle pretty easily at Target? I'm struggling to find the time to do a few stops at local stores and he's really the one right now i"m gonna be wildly bummed out if I don't find him. (Any word on Barda to go with him? Please Todd, don't leave Scott lonely)

I picked him and Sandman up what seems like months ago now from a Canadian retailer but I can confirm that I saw Mr Miracle at 2 of the 3 Targets that I visited this past weekend so he seems relatively available.

I follow a guy name Jayger on YouTube that seems to have recaps of all of the DC Multiverse leaks and I don't recall any mentions of Barda, unfortunately. No Desaad or Granny Goodness either. I'd personally really like Granny!

Sandman is sneaky good. At first, I was a little disappointed that he wasn’t in his classic JSA duds, but if I’m being honest, this look is so much better.

I did scan through the mini-series this look is based on, and fire reflected in the goggles is accurate to the source material and a really nice touch.

I think it’s more like a Venn diagram with a circle of McFarlane collectors, a circle of Mattel collectors and some overlap between the two. I’m not sure that removing McFarlane from the equation is going to make Mattel’s circle any bigger. In fact, it might make it smaller. Competition keeps collectors engaged.

I believe that these corporate types see collecting as a zero sum game. That everyone who was buying McFarlane will now buy what Mattel offers. The compulsive nature of collecting something will drive us to them and we have little to no control over ourselves. Not true. There are people who are going to walk away when Todd is through. There are people who will come back once Mattel starts again. And of course there are people who will jump from one to the other without a forethought.

I’ve always wondered where this marketing data comes from? Does anyone question it? How is it sourced? How is it verified? Will there be a conflict between the toy aisle and the collector aisle? I don’t see it.

We’ve been told by well placed sources to not make assumptions about what Mattel is going to do. OK. Fine. But we’re probably months away from seeing anything from them. And I still remember what they did last time. I still can’t help but think that once there’s no competition, there will be less effort.
 
Ultimately, all the “inside baseball” just doesn’t matter much to me.
Someone is making cool DC toys?
I’m probably gonna buy them.
I’ve got no interest in “rooting for a team” in terms of who makes them: just the product itself.
Then again, I’m also not really interested in “finishing” a collection: I sincerely hope I am buying new Batman toys for the rest of my life.
 
For me, collecting is always going to be about the character selection and the quality of the figures. If Mattel gives us an upgraded classic figure in either 6” or 7” scale, I’ll probably replace the DCUC or McFarlane version. New stuff I don’t have is always nice (Absolute Batman? Someone please make one).

I do find the idea of McFarlane continuing to produce DC figures beyond 2026 a bit far fetched, unless it’s in a totally different scale/niche. I could see Super Powers continuing while Mattel does a more mass market collector line. But otherwise what incentive would Mattel have to let McFarlane take a percentage of their customer base? Only so much space in the toy aisle, and inevitably some people who say they won’t, will buy a Mattel figure if it looks good in hand, or it’s the only option for a specific character.
 
Got Hush Riddler today along with vintage Batgirl. Batgirl is alright, not amazing. Happy to have a decent "good enough" Riddler to fill the slot before McFarlane wanes. Just a couple more I need like Poison Ivy and a couple others.

I ordered the bundle and haven’t gotten any email.

GameStop did charge me for the Giant Penguin vehicle, though.
