Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

It's weird to feel like we haven't had any MCU love this year but IMO those two waves are feckin' beautiful figures. I loved both waves. Yelena and Alexei haven't left my desk and the F4 would still be there but I'm having trouble making room for the whole family plus Surfer.

Really is a shame Thunderbolts and F4 came and went like they did- I think they're some of the best entries, at least in a while. Fantastic 4 comes out tomorrow on home media, and I'm excited to see it again- only caught it once in theaters.

And again, pure opinion, but I thought those two scripts were the best cinematic releases in a long while from Marvel.
My opinion is the same! Loved them both! And I don't really hate any marvel, but some I have enjoyed a lot less than others, but still... Those two were a massive step up from lately.

Right? Seeing Galactus on the big screen really woke up my inner child. The Surfer Chase/Sue Birth Scene was one of the most tense Marvel moments for me in a bit, and the ending with Sue hit me in the feels, even if I knew she wasn't really gone. Not a perfect film, but a ton of fun, and clear a lot of care went into it. Of all the characters in Doomsday, it's arguably the F4 and Thunderbolts that I'm most excited for (X-Men aside).

Yeah, F4 made me fall in love with the characters all over again, and the Thunderbolts tried to something different and unique and was such a great contrast to the previous few films in not feeling like it was written by committee.

Didn't realize F4 was coming out this week for streaming. I saw it twice in the theaters and I think I've mentioned I've got an almost photographic memory for story--I need to REALLY love something to watch it twice in the same five or ten years because I can usually remember every story beat.

This new thing that Hasbro and McFarlane are doing - giving one retailer exclusive availability for a month or two before the rest get the same product - really messes up the later retailers and my purchase decisions. It worked out for me for Thunderbolts because I never saw the Walmart shipper, and then it seems like Amazon isn't getting DD and Punisher until the expected release dates meaning Target got these early. And they aren't transparent about most of this stuff - McFarlane at least publicizes some of it - but all of that impacts my buying decisions and I don't like it.

Right, they both came and went!
And also they were expected MCU offerings anyway - give us some exciting unexpected reveals (and expected i.e. Ghost + Bucky + Taskmaster).

Did anyone at NYCC ask about MCU offerings/hints/teases? I didn't get a chance to ask any questions when I said hi to the ML boys as they were super busy and putting out the new made to order Apoc.

True. I guess the leaked list kinda lessened the excitement a little bit heh.

I haven't seen anything, and seems like a lot of people are over the MCU thing anyway. Which is a shame. But also, not be another "Ach, but the prices!" person, but the prices definitely have me wanting to get even less going forward. I got my Black Series wishlist REALLY low now. Didn't even order the new Boba Fett. And Marvel, definitely not getting all the X-Men but rather my crucial top ten or so. Now, most of my attention is going to Joe Classified, but even that is gonna have to be more 'waiting for sales'.
