Operation Monster Force

Anna I guess on that subject, Tomax's head doesn't fit easily on a MF neck ball. The ball is too big.

I'm not quite ready to try to pull out G.I.Joe necks to see if the whole thing can be swapped out. I'm not sure if these old Classifieds were designed to do that.

I swap necks all the time!

No, but seriously, I swap Classified necks all the time. It's why I got into cataloguing the reuse of parts, so I could see which necks were used on which figures and then automatically know what will fit without buying and trying.

Good to know. I guess you just boil 'em and apply some brute force?
Yes. Once in a while I'll get one I can just pop out easily, otherwise I'll microwave water in a coffee cup for a minute, let the figure sit in there maybe 15 seconds, and they pop out easily. I've mostly done Cobras though since I was making all my troopers and vipers individuals.

Finally received my first and only Monster Force figure (General Brown aka Ross) yesterday and I have to admit, he's superfantastic. No complaints whatsoever.
He's going to look perfect in my Hulk display holding his pistol and pointing at Hulk as if to scold him for deflowering Betty.
Fine work, Fresh Monkey Fiction. Damn fine work.

Shhhh. My wallet is already crying this month...

Uggh who am I kidding I know I'll get him if the Blackwatch Agent I got is even remotely good.

They announced another spinoff line on Travis Moody’s show. I find him a bit hard to watch (he didn’t like the question about frustration over reviewers getting the toys first), so don’t know if I missed anything but the spinoff line is Dark Directive and deals seemingly with other non-forgotten king monster threats. That’s where the fwoosh skeleton figures are gonna be used. Wer’re getting a normal two pack, a blue glow in the dark two pack, the skeleton in the red cloak from gi Joe 43 (kinda crazy how they directly admit to taking stuff), and Striker which is a guy in a blue version of the general body

Ah yeah, I'd seen that was happening and tuned in for like 10 seconds before I realized I have no interest in anything else that's going to be said on this stream. Thanks for the summary.

Well. That sounds like a great place to introduce a race of amphibian people!

I'm curious if they're borrowing the Fwoosh molds or if they straight up bought them since I can't imagine Fwoosh making any more. They're good figures, I own one skeleton but wouldn't mind a second to fiddle with.

I think the only other interesting bit from the interview was some more details about the Raven Society. It's basically real historical figures vs. fictional characters, and each Society member is going to come with a bookshelf as a sort of Build-a-Library.

Since Monster Force is already half fictional characters, I'm not quite sure where they have to go with this line. Same with Dark Directive, really.

Oh, and I liked the idea of NPCs being released as genre waves. Like, one wave would be "slasher movie." I'm a little skeptical because, other than the mob boss and bank robbers, none of the other revealed characters go together. Still, it's a cool idea.

I have a feeling them calling the use of the fwoosh skeletons a partnership and collaboration is just them being nice. Feel like BBTs either bought or were given the molds due to lack of fulfillment.

Hope you didn’t pay for those ninja scroll figures lol

I tried watching some of a livestream about this line. Don't remember which people were hosting it. Tried skipping through to get the supposed reveals. I think they had already shown off a skeleton in a red cloak with an M-60 which is essentially based on the old Marvel GIJoe comic cover. And then they showed up blank skeletons. I think they may be Fwoosh ones, so maybe they acquired the Fwoosh skeleton mold and can make them now. Again, I wasn't really listening to it, since it was rather boring and giving me some streaming issues.I think the skeleton characters have some kind of sub-line or faction name.
