Masters of the Universe: Origins

Yeah, that's not great (he said kindly, instead of screaming "That bitch don't look right!") Honestly though, I'm glad. It just further helps me decide not to buy the 200X sub line. MOTU Toy inspired figures and Filmation Cartoon inspired figures. Thats where I'll leave it.

I don't even like giving Mattel money right now if it's not to finish the vintage collection. And I know I mention finishing the vintage collection a lot, but they promised to finish it. And I will absolutely keep buying Origins product after they finish it, but as I lifelong He-Man fan, I really want that collection finished.

I wanted it in Classics and got it. Now I want it in Origins, and I even want it in Masterverse.

I will say this though; it was hard to tell what the head sculpt for sure looked like on the regular 200X He-Man in those MOC pics yesterday. But on that Samurai He-Man Deluxe figures page on Wal-Marts website, you can see the 200X He-Man head sculpt head sculpt very well. And it does look good. So, I'm glad to see that.
Yeah they keep doing this to us.

I mean 40th She-Ra and Swiftwind? Perfection!!!

This Samurai He-Man? Before another vintage character we are still missing? WHAT IN THE F$%K??? I know it is an exclusive so at least it isn't taking a spot from a vintage want by putting it somewhere harder to get, but c'mon Mattel........Jesus.

Sigh.

Why can't they just work on finishing the vintage characters we still need? At this rate we'll maybe get the rest of them by 2030. Though Sting-Or is a great looking figure.

I thought for certain this would be Dragstor on the 21st. I can't believe we are going another month and not getting one of the remaining vintage collection figures. There are only 8 left if you don't count the Tops Twistoid and Rotar, or the figures only released in Europe. 8. Freakin' 8!

They should have had that knocked out this year.

So... my concept series Spikors arrived from Target yesterday, and I have to day I love it. Tje look is so good and the spiky tail easily makes this seem like a new character.

I will say I was surprised that the spiky torso wasn't a removable overlay like they did in Classics - I never bought the Origins Spikor, so it was new to me. The chest harness is sculpted with the torso and the spiky bits are glued on. It works, bit i bought a second one to swap the chest armor overlay onto another figure and now can't do that.

I picked up a Sketchbook Spikor today to combine costs with '97 civilian Wolverine to get past $40 to get the $10 off.

I haven't opened it yet, but he looks cool. I don't mind having a growing Sketchbook collection. I imagine they'll focus on more of the latter day characters rather than the first couple of waves. I just wish they'd put this much effort into finishing off the missing characters from the vintage line. I really hate that those characters are being held hostage at this point.

The longer they wait to release the remaining vintage figures, people will have lost interest and the price increases will make even more people not want to buy them.

I'm pretty much already there. They've gone to MattelCreations only, over 30-40 dollars Canadian each, for a line that started out at Walmart at 15 dollars Canadian each. It's ridiculous. There's almost no characters left I'm even willing to pay that price for. And Mattel has burned every ounce of goodwill by going back on their promise to finish the vintage line (or, if not going back on it, largely ignoring it and thinking it's not on a timer when it very much is).

Mattel recently filed to renew the Trademark for Megator. I know it doesn't guarantee anything but maybe they are thinking of making him. I'm sure it would be on Creations but still. I'd like to have both giants Tytus and Megator as well as the dinosaurs from Powers of Grayskull.

Wonder how many more sketch figures are planned. These are in the back of Spikor’s packaging. I know it’s not a guarantee of anything but…

I really want a Megator in this line, but I'm also afraid of what Mattel is going to charge for it at this point. If they'd done it back when these guys were at retail for 20 bucks it was a sure-buy. With current pricing, I have no idea.

Amazon has the first wave of 200X MotUO - He-Man, Stratos, Tri-Klops and deluxe Beast Man, $20 and $25 respectively. I just preordered.
