I read someone post about what to do if the Democrats ever get back in power (all 3 branches) and one interesting thing they mentioned, which I thought was a novel idea (but not practical) was to close all military bases in deep red states and move everyone/everything to deep blue states.
He was talking about full shutdown. All equipment and personnel get redistributed to deep blue states. All the bases get torn down to flat land so they can't be reused/repurposed by the states and it has to be done much like they are doing now....."shock and awe, get it done, flood the zone so they can't stop it before it is too far gone." Basically the idea was that it would cripple the ability of red states to provide material support to future Republican governments should they try to go down this path again.
Of course people flocked in to tell him about how many problems there are with that idea, but I did think it was a funny and, admittedly, gratifying idea to think about for just a second.
I will say that they seem to be really trying to accelerate the ICE/military agenda now which is strange because there doesn't seem to be anything on the horizon they need to try and push outside of the usual.
