G.I. Joe Classified Series

Just got Budo and this figure makes me angry at OTHER TOY MANUFACTURERS.
I watched a review of him earlier today and it was completely delightful. So many options, it sets a new standard for sure, he can be a Joe or he can be an imposing demon samurai to bounce other figures off if you fancy. The Classified team doesn't get enough props for the excellent work they've been doing.

I felt like maybe ordering 3 was overkill.. but I felt like I could make three unique characters, so good to know that may really work.

If all it takes is bodies, I'll see what extra troops I can give the extra Budo gear. I feel like I have more and more obsolete figures thanks to retro card rereleases.

I'm really happy with all the great reviews Budo is getting. Not to be a whiny bitch or anything, but I have a strong tendency to get fucked over when toy companies make my favorites (looking at you, Ninja Force Storm Shadow). Somehow my most favorite characters/figures/looks seem to often get the half-ass treatment. I don't know what it is.
ARAH Budo was a favorite of mine - probably in my top 5, but definitely in my top 10. Between him and Desert Scorpion, it's amazing to be getting some of my very favorite ARAH Joes also coming out as some of the best figures in Classified to date.

One of my local WM had 6 Crystal Ball today out of nowhere. Not on clearance, though.
That's what will happen to me actually. Anytime I find an exclusive at target or walmart, or even really anything, that others are finding on extreme sale? IF I find one, it will be full price. I remember finding one walmart exclusive classified figure once and it was at full price AND the package was beat to hell with most of the accessories missing. I'm surprised it didn't have diarrhea dripping off with "hey, fuck you" written on the window in sharpie.

Budo is STUPIDLY cool. I barely know enough about the character but I want an extra one just to use all his armor.

First of all his kit is stacked and you can't just make three different looks for him, you can modular-ize the hell out of him and come up with dozens of looks. He's ridiculously versatile. The armor does not inhibit his ROM much at all (the samurai kilt/skirt does just a bit, but not much. And all of his gear can be swapped without boil and pop (side-eyeing a very specific high-end indie studio about this). No fuss, no muss, just swapping his gear around willy nilly (aside from this gauntlets but Classified hands are designed to swap anyway so it's no big deal) and the scarf needs a head pop but again, designed to swap.

He has too much gear. It is Christmas morning. I was cursiing myself out for ordering two because I wanted to use John Budo Wick and clean-cut man-bun Budo at the same time but seriously, if he goes on sale I could see getting a third to keep him permanently in his family armor. The only thing I wish he came with was a stand to put the family armor on, and that's not even a knock, it's just an improvement.

Slice & Dice were stupidly good for non-marquee Joes characters, and Budo absolutely says "hold my sake" and goes even harder. The crazy thing is the stripped down, no armor figure underneath is awesome all on his own - he doesn't need all the bells and whistles, but they make him even better.

Actually, a bit of an EFF YOU to Hasbro for mastering the removable vest thing now after I had to mutilate a Flint to get his vest off and have been considering mutilating a Beachhead to do the same. This should be the gold standard for armor going forward. (And to think two weeks ago I was saying Monster Force mastered the removeable vest thing, but even their buttons/tabs to hold them in place fight you if you remove them and try to put them back on - Budo's snap back into place like butter. The skirt/kilt too - it's pops back in so cleanly it's infuriating that other figures don't do this.)

Anyway, I didn't give a damn about Budo until like a year ago and this might be my figure of the year. Or at least a very strong contender.

(EDIT: And he's CHEAPER THAN A F*CKING MAGIC THE GATHERING MARVEL LEGENDS CROSSOVER FIGURE WT ever-loving F)

I'll get some pics after I finish up this 20 hour consulting project I shouldn't have agreed to this weekend. I was supposed to have the whole weekend to do action figure photos with my good backdrops and hang out with my dog while my partner was out of town and instead I'm using opening up action figures as a break from reading about Medicaid...

Oh I forgot about that. I'm sorry man, I was just joking. Take your time.

I know you were just bustin' balls, I'm just like "dude, I had a PLAN, I was going to do LIGHTING SETUPS while I had the house to myself, my living room was gonna look like an action figure MOVIE SET..."
We should probably be putting Doc on some kind of self harm watch. Take turns checking in. Maybe text him random pictures of scantily-clad nuns to boost dopamine levels.
I hate to say it but I'm a healthcare/quality nerd, I usually like this stuff. The client just decided they needed everything done beween Friday night and Monday morning for some reason and in this economy, if you can charge a rush fee... (I mean this ENTIRE freelancing check is going to Hasbro but... might as well have them direct deposit it to Pulse)
