Might be time to get concerned about the Ravens. They need to get healthy on defense, but their offense was not good yesterday and at times it was flummoxed pretty bad by Detroit the week prior. Jackson's injury didn't look too serious and the game was getting out of hand when he went out, but never a good sign when a potential league MVP can't finish a game. Maybe a balky hammy will help him stay in the pocket more going forward and make better decisions. He's been getting sacked like crazy and it's because he's always trying to make a play and doesn't know when to give up on one. I also thought there was way too little of Dereck Henry in the first half. The guy was averaging around 8 yards per carry, but they still kept dropping back. Baltimore is the rare team that wishes it had the early week 5 bye.
Weird game last night. Definitely didn't have a 40-40 tie on the bingo card. Definite concerns about Green Bay and their readiness for the bright lights. Being crowned potential champs in August means nothing. Tonight's games conclude a weird September. Seems like there are a lot of risers and fallers each week and the league doesn't seem close to being settled. It also feel likes it's been a big injury month. I don't know if there's any data to back that up, or if it's just some prominent names have been taken down.
I was happy to see my Patriots blow away what I think is a bad Carolina team. I was expecting a sloppy game between the two, but the Patriots pretty much rolled and did so in all three phases of the game after another slow start. They need to work on being ready to go at the sound of the first whistle. As for their coming matchup in Buffalo, I just want to see a competent display. They're no where near ready for that kind of matchup, but if the Saints can hang around a bit then I'd like to see the Patriots do the same. At least if it's a bad one I can go to bed at halftime.
