Star Wars Black Series

I was thinking that too- it's not quiiiite 100%, but I definitely know who it is. I think my BOTH set skews a little better than the single release, and certain angles do look better than others. I also think that, since he's a character who has so many big emotions, seeing him just kinda neutral-faced seems a little odd. That said, the Dark Side head that the BOTH set includes, I think, looks even less like Hayden. That one definitely skews more "cosplayer", but I think the neutral head is kinda somewhere in-between. Could definitely be a tricky likeness to get; I don't know if they've 100% captured Mace either- both are good from certain angles, but not all. Obi-Wan, however, I think they've all but nailed at this point.

Maybe I'm expecting something that emotes more. The sculpt looks soft to me, very docile. No intensity. Not a lot of personality. The figure itself is great, love the articulation and material improvements. But that face is almost like a baby face.
That's every Black Series, not unique to him. The neutral look doesn't do so many of these characters any favours.

For Anakin, I might have made the default with a more furrowed brow. He's always got that intense distracted/thinking look whenever someone is monologuing at him, and I think that little push would have locked it in.

I know I've made a deal in this thread about how I'm getting out of Black Series and it's just like core characters I'm keeping and I even sold off almost everything from the past decade this summer.

Well, saw I had sold off all my Stormtroopers and then I was like. Well that's dumb. You kind of need them for Han and Leia and Chewie and Vader. So I saw four of them at EB today and I just bought them.

The funny thing is I decided I didn't want that GI Joe cop so I returned it and when they were like what's the reason? I just said I can't reconcile ACAB. And they laughed and I said I was serious.

And then no one bats an eye when I buy four fascist soldiers off the return.

Anyway. Got to have my Stormtroopers. I am happy again. Now I'm done. For real. I would like a new scout trooper really though.

I have just the right amount of scout troopers already but if they made one with the fluid range of motion of the latest round of figures, I'd get one for sure.

The current (and now pretty old) Scout Trooper body just feels weird to me now. It's kind of lanky/tall? I dunno. I got rid of my Speeder Bike a long time ago, during my last SW purge. I'd be very tempted by a new bike with an all-new Scout Trooper. Just a re-issue of that however-old body, though? Maybe not so much.

Yeah, it's kinda surprising they haven't done a new body for the Scout Trooper yet, especially with as often as they do/can re-release it (single card, speeder bike, Mando packaging, ROTJ packaging, Fallen Order packaging, etc.) Not to mention they could dress it up a bit and give us a Kashyyyk version (I know it's not exactly the same, but still). I'm sure it's inevitable, but I'd have thought we'd have seen it by now, especially for ROTJ's anniversary.

To be fair, I thought we would have gotten a new-body Sandtrooper LONG before we actually did/will. And we still haven't gotten a new Snowtrooper either.

I still kinda see the Biker Scout as the 'new' trooper, since Stormtroopers have just always been as far as my memory goes, but the scouts were the 'oooo, what are they about' guys when I first saw the figure. I also felt that way about the Royal Guards, and man they were exciting when they... left the room.

With the snowtrooper, it would be cool if they did a new one, but I also hope that leads to kitbashing a bit with the Stormtrooper and AT-AT Driver, with a new head, for the Snowtrooper officer.

Is there a difference between the reissued Sand trooper and the new Sand trooper beyond the digital print sand staining? It's funny seeing both on the shelf. Hasbro is weird sometimes with the timing.

I watched the out of the basement review on the figure and they were very disappointed with it due to a lot of details with the helmet and armor that really just prove I'm a poser fake Star Wars fan because I have never noticed any of this stuff. I always thought the Sand trooper just had the shoulder pad and the backpack. I did not know the helmet had extra detailing and greeble.

Well they got the belt, the ab armor, and the knee right at least, and at that scale I can be very happy with that.

the reissued Sand trooper
Do you mean the Jedha trooper? I don't mean this in a snide "do you mean the Jedha trooper, you big dumb idiot" way but genuinely want to know which reissued trooper you're talking about.

Then yes... I don't have the Jedha guy any more, but from memory... it was just a regular stormtrooper with less paint? I think the ab armor was completely white. The new Sandtrooper has a new knee plate, no canister on the back of his belt, no hip rectangles hanging off the front of the belt (ammo pouches instead), the little fastener thingie on the middle of the front of his belt, no lines inside the grey decal to the side/just under the eyes, and the sandtrooper ab plate, which differs from the standard Stormtrooper. The Mos Eisley stuff was shot first so I'm guessing the Sandtrooper costumes were the first ones done, then the clean Stormtrooper armors were more refined for later in the shoot.
