Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

Tremendous updates!

Otho V2 is a significant upgrade over the original Otho. Otho V2 has a more proportioned head sculpt (which looks great!) and two fantastic new helmets. The standard knight helmet reminds me of a larger version of Lady Avarona’s helmet, and I really like it. By the way, Otho’s armor is a close enough match to the new Silver Knight that you can swap helmets with that figure. The lion helmet is my favorite. The sculpt looks so cool and matched with Attila’s and Faustia’s helmets. The new weapons, including the axe and longer sword, are both excellent. Overall he’s an epic new knight that’s up there with the best of them.

Urzokk V2 has a ton of new stuff going on. I was wrong—the pauldrons are new and allow for more range of motion than the previous two “evil” pauldrons. Urzokk has a new armored torso, which matches the battle-worn sculpt of the new pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, etc. I took a comparison shot with the “evil” red Armory Knight to show the torso difference. Urzokk’s two new heads are awesome. I particularly love the yelling head sculpt with fits orc combat poses so nicely. The new axe and sword are very cool. As is the huge upgraded shield.

I love the idea of dark knights and Chaos Warriors, so I tried a couple of head swaps. No exact color matches or matches to the battle-worn texture of the new armor. I am really curious how the Legions Con Revenant helmets would look on this armor.

Both of these make me want even more updated versions of Gorgo V2 and Attila V2 to go with their upgraded lieutenants. They need the updated range of motion.

Big problem with this line is that modularity comes at the price of joint integrity. The pegs aregenerally too short and moving limbs/parts and especially popping and swapping them often loosens them thereafter. I can't think of another line since maybe DCUC where simply moving joints had such a deleterious impact on the quality/tightness of joints.

Still love this line and have been almost all-in from the start but the joint design is a continual source of frustration.
Yeah, I HATE how short the hand pegs are. I generally get the one set I want in there and never remove them because I don't want to wear down the sad little nubbins that hold them in place. I also don't love leaving them posed with heavier weapons in hand for long periods of time because they hands will just drop out of the socket, at least in 1.0 bodies.

While I do think the Gorgo helmet has been used A LOT, I do often think it still looks good. I like it on the new Urzokk body. We also need some more new evil knight helmets in the line. Not just the same heads repainted. But something new and specifically menacing looking.

Yes, exactly! More new helmet designs are what I want most. Menacing knight helmets would be great. I have been eyeing a few custom helmets on eBay. But you never know about matching colors.

I feel like a new helmet or two to match the wear and roughness of the new orc armor has to be on the way. That additional texture to the armor makes the older helmets stand out with their smoothness.

A few more new Legends of Mythoss/ Legions Con exclusives got revealed tonight. I figured we wouldn’t see the Graveyard offering until the Legends of Mythoss wave 1 preorders end on Oct. 5. That’s a fairly short window for a 4H preorder so it’s likely dictated by needing to move on to the next thing in early October.

The new version of Scaphoid and Valgar look great though. I really hope there is a route to get some of the con exclusive versions for those of us not attending Legions Con. A bit bummed that the local comic con this weekend that the 4H have come to the past couple of years and we’re originally planning on this year is getting skipped by them now in favor of a local con for them. That was going to be my Horsemen con for the year and now I’m SOL. Going to have to wait until the online drop on the Barbarian now.

Scaphoid V2 looks cool. But Valgard V2 is awesome. But why make the Valiant Guard knight parts exclusive!? Frustrating. I would love to get those golden knight parts.

They really do look great, but I don't feel quite so compulsive about getting them as I did with the first two - if Valgard had a fully unmasked face I'd be more inclined. Scaphoid--I'm REALLY happy wiht my skeleton collection so I think I'll skip this one, though I really do love a good rune-etched skull!

Making the army builder head for Valgard exclusive to the Con and not the wider available later release is so…irritating and makes no sense. It’s one of those decisions which makes me question the 4H’s judgment. Their con pieces are always just…frustrating. If they need to make a part exclusive, make it the skeleton head. Not sure who is using skeleton heads on guys with polished armor (makes no sense to me). Otherwise, he looks cool. The pauldrons are cool and will look forward to those getting reused in the line.

I can probably skip Scaphoid. Again, his exclusive parts are what would tempt me but I’m not going to struggle to acquire him.

I am so tired of the exclusive pieces gimmick. I liked it when it was just different packaging and you get the opportunity to get the figure months earlier than anyone else. Of course I am 100% biassed because I have never been able to go to a con. I have cut way back on Mythic Legions but I probably would have caved in and gotten Valgard if the exclusive was the original release. I am really liking the new knights. Otho was a great update.

I love my original Scaphoid, but that new Scaphoid sure is tempting. I've been trying to game out the cost in my head to pick up the parts I really want from him on eBay and I think it might be cheaper just to buy the whole figure and pop and swap to my heart's content.

Scaphoid has always been one of my favorites, but this new one isn’t terribly tempting. It’s a neat update, but it doesn’t make the original feel any lesser. If there’s an opportunity to get it later on, I might go for it. The runes carved into the skull are a nice touch.

It's funny, of all the factions/bodies they've made over the years, the one I feel the least need for an update is the skeleton style _ I feel like that just knocked it out of the park from go. Love my orcs but they do have lil baby hands sometimes, and the upgraded knight body is such a jump forward. I'm really curious how the new Attlus looks when he ships - it'd be damned shame if he's dated on arrival as they're updating all the 1.0 stuff. Hoping he'll fit in with the new stuff (I never had the 1.0 version of him, though the first Legions I bought was a well-loved and well-used Adamonn out of the box which hooked me IMMEDIATELY).
