1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

For all the people wanting a Blackbird Haslab, that shows just how this un-doable that actually would be. Even a scaled down one that fits like 4 figures would still be huge.

Absolutely. Something bespoke like this is the only way, and it's a project you'd have to dedicate months to (and a lot of money in filament and printer time). Like, the Rattler is about as big as you can reasonably make a 1/12 scale aircraft before either it is too large to move or too cartoonishly scaled to look good. Even this one is noticeably weird in proportions to my eyes.

This is why I keep saying the best we'd get on a Haslab is the Fantasticar (non standard shape, just seats 4) or a Quinjet, specifically the 90s design that's just like an oblong capsule with winglets. Even that style of Quinjet wouldn't be one that could carry a full Avengers team. 4 is probably the most you could fit while keeping it the size you'd need.

Damn. That really is eye-opening to see. Glad someone took one for the team and showed off how unwieldy it would be. As well-intentioned as they are, I also think the people saying they'd be fine if it only fit one or two figures are also stretching the truth a bit. We all wanna fit the full team in there

Now we know what Paul was really singing about in "Blackbird". Heard the original lyrics were:

"Blackbird sitting on my top toy shelf
Taking room away from everything else
You are truly something
Even Haslabs can't describe"

But it was too emotional for him to sing, so they had to change it.

Yeah, and then why bother? At that point it's more like the Black-hummingbird. The folks who say that I sort of shake my head because they just don't understand the scale. It won't be what they want. A Blackbird cockpit, that's doable. And I sort of wish Black Series would do that for the Millennium Falcon, but more than that and it just ain't gonna work.

Until you have a couple of 1/12 vehicles you just can't really wrap your brain around how big a passenger jet at that scale would need to be.

I picked up the Hiya Toys 1/12 Judge Dredd recently when BBTS had it on a big sale. I've always wanted a good Dredd to put with a Batman, I have a lot of nostalgia for those weird Batman/Dredd comics from the 90's lol

The 1/18 version comes with his Lawmaster bike, but the 1/12 version did not. Does anyone know of a close enough bike that would fill in without breaking the bank? I suppose it just needs to look futuristic yet militaristic? The one a few pages back someone posted from Amazon is pretty cool. I thought about the McFarlane White Knight Batcycle, but that might be a bit too much.

Any and all ideas are appreciated if anyone has some!

If you mean this one I posted then yeah, it is cool and I'm super happy with mine (especially for the price): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPPVZP5J?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

It depends on how large the Hiya Dread is, but he'll look better on it the closer he is to true 1/12 (ML would probably still work on that bike, but it would start to look a little shrimpy for male characters).

I looked around because I had a hunch and indeed Three A did a 1/12 Dredd and Lawmaster bike a while back. It's not cheap on the secondhand market though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/405208548938

Yes! That's the bike I was thinking of. I know it's not exactly the Lawmaster, but it's also not a generic looking bike, either. Might be fun in the interim.

I think he's just about 5.5-6". He's not very big, more or less Mezco size I think (skinnier, but about the same height). Sounds like he'd look good on that bike, if we're looking at real 1/12. Mostly, I just want him to sort of sit on it 'Purple Rain' style and aura farm, as the kids say. I don't need him to hold the handlebars and be in a riding position.

What do you have riding that bike? Got something that really seems to be your favorite? I'm going to order it, btw, I appreciate you posting it in the first place!

Oh yeah, at 5.5-6" he'll look great on that bike. The guy I've got on it now is a Lightning Collection Andros (basically the Red Space Ranger, but an alt costume he wore as a disguise for like half a minute in one episode). Sort of a fake Power Ranger that, on my shelf is sort of my own personal headcanon ranger. He's basically right at 6" and looks great on it.

That's awesome, that sounds cool.

Something I've just been thinking about today while messing with my Marvel Toybox Iron Man Hall of Armor set, is how clearly this thing really was designed to be used with Marvel Legends. And thinking on that, my mind goes to the Spider-Man Crime lab set and I have to wonder if it would work as well. It seems a bit smaller, but there's still enough head room in that costume change tube that I think the average Spidey might fit... I don't know if I could find one cheap enough to test it out, but it's tempting all the same. Anybody else have one of these who can test?

Additionally, the longer I look at the Iron Man Hall the more convinced I am the alcoves were designed to receive seem sort of lighting system. it feels like it was perhaps designed for some 5mm LEDs and some kind of triangular holder. I'm tempted to see if I can't 3d print something that would work...

I definitely hope you dig the bike when you get it. you'll have to post pics of Dredd here when you do.
Looks like the bike arrived today, so I should get to check it out tonight after work. And thanks again for the rec, I've been looking for a non-traditional looking bike for a while that wouldn't kill my wallet and this looks like a good one.

I'll definitely share what Dredd looks like on it. I have a YouTube channel, maybe I'll do a small video review of the bike there and Dredd can be the guy to show it off. Might do that this weekend.

Ooh that'd be awesome!
