General Marvel Legends

I finished the stream and bad news: Ryan said anyone looking forward to Armor is probably going to be waiting awhile. And he didn't sound like he was playing, so it sounds like there is little interest and Hasbro hasn't even attempted to prototype her.
SHIT.

If Marvel really wanted to go crazy, they should make a new X-Men animated series based around all the mutants debuted in this century, starting with Pixie - I think she's been around the longest and I've never read her in anything. I know she and some others appeared in Genosha on '97, but, well...

Although it feels like Gen X would make more sense, especially with that name.

I think I found my Volcana base body at a much better price than one I had on pre-order. Curvy and 6.8" tall kinda perfectly matches her. Just $29. 5K verified the clothes are removable.

That actually is a good custom option. It comes with bare feet so you can ditch the heels. I might have to consider it...

This is very much an autistic me thing, but even trying to keep it straight and cordial, there is like a smug meanness to everything. It just rubs me wrong. It's like even if they invited me over for beers and wanted to include me in their poker game, and they were nice to me, there's cynical and fake veneer going on that just makes me actively recoil and not want to be around it.

I have that same cynicism they do, and like them I'm kidding entirely so I wouldn't take offense. And like at least a third of the population I'm also autistic, so it's not necessarily specific to that way of thinking.

I blame the popularity of David Letterman for so many men being like this since he also had that same mean-spirited, deadpan cynical sense of humor. Not that I think there's any actual blame to assign since I don't feel about it like you do, but I realize a third of the population and a majority of women hate a cynical sense of humor so I'm certainly familiar with your point of view.

The LaserPants guy has about zero tact as an interviewer which I assume could be attributed to how much they must regularly bitch and complain on their podcast when someone like Ryan isn't on it. Just casually throwing out "Yeah that line was a failure" for something that ended up a Ollies or "that figure sucked" randomly. Either he doesn't have much awareness or is OK with being pretty disrespectful to someone coming onto their podcast and is without question driving up their viewership. Not to draw the discussion out for another day, but the interview was pretty much a waste of Ryan's time - any time he touched on something remotely interesting it was glossed over or ignored, as mentioned many times. I also can't stand the streaming podcast platform. Stream comments and chat are regularly a cesspool, so the fact that you pay a few bucks and whatever nonsense you write is read aloud and given attention even if it's gibberish - it's brutal. You pay $20 bucks and the dude throws on light up sunglasses and dances for 5 minutes. Everything is just geared for tiktok addicts with 2 second attention spans and severe ADD. You'd hope for more revelations from an interview like this... but this was not it.

Letterman at the height of his creative prowess (ie during his NBC show) was cynical about a certain thing not just in general. He was cynical about the phoniness of show business. It was the central theme of that show. He was quite warm to people he liked and thought were interesting. He loved to engage and "platform" the weirdos. That sort of faded over time; especially as he went to CBS

"Bobby kept his mouth shut because Ryan could openly embarrass him for being a loudmouth idiot.... because Bobby respects him" is certainly a hell of a take. But so is the take that these guys use 'cynical humor.' Being mean-spirited, narcissistic, and aggressively dumb isn't a type of humor. It's certainly no Letterman (I say, as a person that doesn't respect Letterman and therefore does not care what company he's put in with).

As mentioned earlier in the thread, it would be cool if we could get someone like Ryan to come do an AMA or something similar here. Maybe set up a separate board where all posts have to be approved to filter out spam/hate/questions Ryan has said he won't answer, etc. Worth looking into for the future.

We can get Beamish to host. We all know he'll do it.

According to Preternia, the Iron Man vs Mandarin pack is scheduled to ship out tomorrow from Amazon. But it still ships directly from Hasbro so shipping could still take 7-10 days

I’m looking forward to seeing what other body options folks come up with for the Mandarin head and hands.
I think the easiest option is either Baron Mordo from the Dr Strange waves. Just gotta repaint any exposed skin. I will be trying it immediately, though I'm like the only person that doesn't mind Mandarin on the suit body.
