Puppy kicking version for me. I always thought CoCo looked weird without his pants tucked into boots. I think its only a matter of time before he shows up. If hasbro is nervous, just make the hood shorter and form fitting maybe, Baron Zemo style.

I don't know how long we can stretch this out; while there are a TON of Joe characters and repaints still left, they still don't have anywhere near the list that Marvel enjoys. Still, could be fun for us and I will maintain a tally in this first post. Also totally open to others wanting to jump in or even take the wheel.

Don't forget other media as well. There as so many versions of characters from ARAH to the movies that the thread should be able to go for quite some time.

Anyway a big yes to hooded CC. First preference would be mail away ARAH look.

You're right, and that's a good point. Even someone like "The Doctor" from ROC would probably lend to some shelf canon for several of us, but I'm sure there's a lot of comic characters to be showcased. I even saw there was a bunch of, more or less, green shirts in the post-Marvel comics that seemed to be introduced just to be killed, but all were given actual codenames!

But some of these are definitely where the thread would benefit from some of you guys more familiar with Devil's Due, IDW, Energon, etc than I am. Even the cartoon, I definitely am not the most knowledgeable person on the forum about.

I can live without a black repaint of CC. I have the Classified version and had a couple of the different iterations over the years. And while they are mostly cool to look at, I think blue is where CC really shines.

Also, it took me a while but I compiled a list of characters only on the cartoon, characters only in the various comics, and went year by year through yojoe.com and made what I feel is pretty comprehensive list.... though I'm sure I'm still missing some from comics I haven't read at all. That said... I think I have almost two years' worth for this thread, heh.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Maybe I could have gone a few months just off memory, but I also like being prepared and kinda having a system about it. Naturally I did a spreadsheet to keep track of which I've done, and I also want to keep it kinda well rounded. Not just ones I want, or just ones from the 80s, or just comic book characters, but attempting to hit most of the groups each week. Hopefully I can surprise some of you guys here and there, BUT... eventually I'll probably start hitting you guys up for suggestions so it's not just me gazing at my navel.

As a kid I swear all we had was hooded Cobra Commanders. The battle helmet version seemed like the rare, unusable version the hooded mask has now become. Really weird to see it swap over the years. But yes, totally want a hooded version now. Its not common for a character to have two iconic looks but they are both equally recognizable as Cobra Commander.

Day 2 - Hydro-Viper

I started with a classic, yet unproduced, version of a popular character, now we're going with a figure with no representation in Classified at all, yet still a very memorable character from the original line. Coming from the 1988 wave, the demon of the deep would likely be a deluxe figure as he included a black manta-ray.

Its hard to imagine saying 'no' to much of anything in this line.

Hooded Cobra Commander is a huge want, but I picked up an extra retro Commander to put one of FMF's hooded blue heads on to stand in.

Hydro-Viper is a super fun look that I'm ready for them to get to. The undersea portion of GI Joe osnt my most favorite but I would be happy to expand for this guy.
