General Marvel Legends

The new 2pks are cool. Death bird looks great and I'm glad Gladiator gets an upgraded body. Star Fox looks a bit odd, like the hair line comes down too low. Champion looks solid. Didn't realize these reveals were coming. Along with the Punisher/Fury 2pk, we got some great new offerings.

I went through my old pics and found this one. This is a better look at what would have been the X-Baby pack ins.

In 2006 I was a toy reporter for AFI. Sad we never got Forbush-Man, Throg or the X-Babies.

Where to begin... oh yeah...

DEATHBIRD!!!!! - Happy Birthday to me!
Jack of Hearts has now officially become my #1 most wanted figure and the combo of Starhawk, NIkki, Martinex and Charlie-27 have officially joined my Top 10.
Deathbird has been my #1 most wanted figure after we got Moondragon, however Deathbird has been in my Top 10 since I first made a Top 10. Her cape is an insane sculpt. The texturing is amazing. Not to rain on my parade too much because I knew they'd give us this version that replicated the old ToyBiz figure, but I would have preferred the original look with the feather wings. That won't stop me from buying this 2-pack when it goes up.

Starfox and Champion is an instant purchase. Hopefully it sells well enough for Hasbro/Disney/Marvel/Jesse to make more Avengers/space stuff.

Rachel and Feral are instant purchases. The rest look great, and that's the Widow I prefer to have over the bomber jacket version, but the rest will all be purchased on sale. Especially is the price goes up.

Iceman looks great! I'm really surprised Iceman is Fan Channel and not mainline. If the rest of the wave pans out as rumored, I just wonder went through their heads to make Iceman a Fan Channel release and Constrictor a mainline release. Iceman would sell better to the general public I'd think. The more I look at pictures of him the more I want Martinex.

The Fury/Punisher set looks great. I'll be picking that up if the price is "normal".

They are really stringing us along with an Inhumans reveal.

That was a magical year; I still remember -freaking out- over how good (at the time) the FA Punisher and FA Wolverine looked. I bought three of that Wolverine set, plus the variant and I had the regular and variants of the Punisher. ToyBiz was on fire at the end.

There was lots of great stuff shown today! I can't say this often but the only figure shown today that I fully expect to skip is the mini-comic Black Widow. I'm very disappointed they didn't do a Yelena. I don't expect to ever buy another Natalia/Natasha after the 60th anniversary version. I'd really like something better than the goggled version of Yelena that we got a couple of years ago, though.

Zero interest in any of the role play stuff, but I do already have a knockoff of that Daredevil mask from a third party manufacturer.

My favorite item shown was not a new reveal but was the Champion/Starfox 2-pack. That's sick and long overdue!

I do expect to buy the retro card versions of Mysterio, Mystique and Storm. Storm is the only one that I'm iffy on.

I do want the Super Skrull if I'm able to get it, but won't be holding my breath based upon my experience trying to get the Savage Land 3 pack. I don't expect this one to be as in demand, though.

For the other mini-comic figures, Feral is a must have. Rachel is right behind. I went in expecting to have no interest in Beast, Daredevil or Surfer but I might be sold on all 3. As I mentioned above though I have no interest in that Widow figure. I only skipped black suit Spidey from the 1st wave and will likely only be skipping Widow from this one.

Secret Wars Iceman is a buy for me. It's not really what I want for Iceman but it likely still an upgrade over what I have.

Deathbird / Gladiator is a no-brainer to buy. I still have the the old multi-pack Gladiator that I believe was from SDCC, never bought the mainline wave version - but this is a clear upgrade over both. Deathbird is the star though, of course.

I don't love the Fury / Punisher 2-pack because of the colors, but I fully know that I'm going to buy it anyway.

My favorite is that Champion / Starfox 2-pack but really love Deathbird and Feral as well. I guess that makes Deathbird my favorite truly "new" reveal as we'd already seen renders of the others.

You have any of those Wolverine's snap at the bicep? 2 of mine did. And don't get me started on those claws. Thank God for hot water straightening them up for the most part.

Awesome reveals! I'm definitely in for Rachel, Feral, Beast, Iceman, and Gladiator/Deathbird. Maybe gray Widow too. Outback Storm...I'll buy, but she's getting a custom head ASAP. I hope some MCU reveals are on the horizon; crazy that we still don't even have Echo, let alone the likes of Wiccan, Hood, or Ironheart's demon armor.

Justice for Starhawk!

Also Happy Birthday Beamish.

Some really great reveals today. That Iceman is probably the best they've done so far and I love that we finally have the power effect pieces to display him making an ice slide. It's a shame we still don't have an ice slide but thankfully I snagged one on eBay so I can't wait to put him on there with those power effects.

Feral and Rachel are a long time coming. I like that so far the mini-comic waves are putting at least a couple of fan-demanded characters in to anchor the waves alongside all of the redos.

Deathbird looks good but I'm not thrilled to have to buy another Gladiator but I can't deny the eye effects are cool so I don't mind too terribly much. Plus he is pinless.

That happened to mine as well. The face off packs were garbage. They were some of the last products that Toy Biz produced before they lost the marvel license and the quality dropped considerably. I think the only figures I have that withstood the test of time is Red Skull and Captain America. But daredevil has fallen apart, so has Wolverine and Iron Man. I never bought the hulk set and I guess punisher was okay but oooof that figure should be hidden away from prying eyes. Not the best execution of a Legends figure by today’s standards

Think the only one I'll probably spring for is Iceman. I do like my Iceman a bit more interesting than just "regular guy, but all ice colored". I like a good spiky bit or something. That said, I can't deny those little ice effects are quite nice, and it's been a while since I've had an Iceman in the display.
