We're getting closer and closer to our Tale of Two Cities moment.
 
RFK Jr just asked everyone on the Senate panel if they “were complicit on the assassination attempt of Donald Trump.” We knew this man had hamburger for brain long ago but he doesn't have to prove it every time he opens his mouth.
 
So this is predictably crazy and hyporcritical:


On one hand, very curious how they argue this. I don't think it's going to go anywhere, but if it does what's their rationale? That transgendered Americans are mentally unwell? That's obviously ludicrous and the 2nd amendment applies to everyone regardless of gender, but say they do push that then doesn't that open the door to limit firearms to actual unwell individuals? The NRA and Republicans have resisted basically all restrictions and what little there have been are actively being rolled back in Texas. This is such an unserious political party and it's amazing (and so very said) anyone can take it seriously.

It's batshit but the exact kind of batshit we should expect from everything these brainrot people put forward. But it a) alienates their favorite target b) and disarms that demographic in the event of the seemingly inevitable call to violence we seem to be heading for.

But in what universe does taking guns away from that tiny portion of the population do when you could literally just ban "white guys name John" from owning guns and statistically remove guns from more people with mental health issues? But that's a question for people capable of rational thinking, when the Republican party is only capable of shoving their heads so far up their own asses they gag on their craniums.
 
How many transgender mass shooters have we had this year so far? Like, 5 tops? With around 300 or so cisgender men making up most of the rest?

When are we gonna restrict guns from cisgender men? It's the only surefire way to make this country a safe place!

Honestly I believe they are banking on the Supreme Court being in their pocket. I see this Supreme Court, which is probably going to be skewed conservative for a long time, being more than willing to roll back a lot of things that could come back to bite Republicans later. Then when that time comes the Supreme Court will backtrack and bail out the Republicans.

Fuck, man, I *wish* it was obviously ludicrous to everyone. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have been told, to my face, when I was sitting in the chair and they were sitting on the couch, that being trans is “ABSOLUTELY a mental illness”, while literally paying me to provide mental health services (usually to their child). It’s wild how much people will dig their heels in on this. I’ve had an easier time explaining that fucking sleep paralysis demons aren’t real. Seriously. The propaganda is just so damn pervasive.
